Dear online and Ashesi family,
I'm pleased to inform you all that our sister, Jackline Yom Ajoh Majok, whose travelling documents (passport) and other valuables were snatched by the Toronto boys, has finally recovered all of them safely.
Special thanks to our brother, Mr. Aduot Malueth Aduot and others, for spearheading the online campaign that greatly contributed to the recovery of our sister’s belongings. Appreciation also goes to everyone who shared the message online and informed people they knew about the incident. Indeed, there is power in the media and in collective effort.
We are equally grateful to the policeman who followed up on the matter and offered his support throughout the process. To the South Sudanese community at Ashesi University, thank you for standing in solidarity with Yom during this difficult moment. That unity and brotherhood are truly the spirit we all desire.
Yomide, thank you for remaining strong and resilient through such a challenging situation. Finally, our prayers, pleas, and requests have been heard and answered. By God’s grace, Yom will now begin preparations to return to school once again.
For more information, kindly reach out to us or directly to Yom.
Ayom Jur Madit, President, SSSAA-26.
