ECCE Ghana Extra & Co-Curricular Education Expo: Providing effective education by focusing on what happens outside the classroom and the regular school timetable. Mrs.

ECCE was launched in 2013 to shed the spotlight on extra and co-curricular education; generally all aspects of the Ghanaian child's development that occurs outside the classroom or their normal school hours. Our maiden conference and exhibition event, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, featured nearly 100 participants, made up of exhibitors, owners, principals, proprietors and teachers from private

basic schools in the Accra/Tema metropolis. The presentations and exhibition covered the following broad areas of focus:

e-learning
Libraries/Research
Leisure & Recreation
Special Needs

In 2014, the event was held at the African Regent Hotel, and drew in nearly double the crowd of school participants. Our focus areas also expanded beyond the above 4 to include a 'Health and Safety' category, with varied exhibitors in that industry and also a presentation by a Specialist Paediatrician on school health. Both events have been graced by the presence of H.E. Matilda Amissah-Arthur, wife of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana. ECCE 2015 is planned as a much bigger event, which would be held over a two-day period. Day 1 (Friday, October 2) features our school conference, and also the start of our exhibition. The exhibition continues on Day 2 (Saturday, October 3), and for the first time, would be open to parents and children; particularly to enable the children have a hands-on experience of products and services of our host of exhibitors. ECCE 2015 will focus on the following broad areas:

Reading, libraries and research
Science, technology and e-learning
Leisure and recreation
Music, art and crafts
Food, drink and nutrition
Child health and safety
Cultural exchange and language appreciation
