The NYA-Northern Regional Secretariat set aside a week to celebrate the 2021 International Youth Day. The Authority partnered a number of Youth Groups to carry out several activities. The Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Shani Shaibu was the Special Guest of Honour at the 6th Youth Empowerment Summit and Official Launch of the International Youth Day. This was in partnership with Martha Inspires Foundation at the UDS, Multipurpose Auditorium on 4th August, 2021.

On Saturday, 19th September, 2016, at SEM-B Lodge, Senior Youth and Organizational Development Consult organized a one-day capacity building training programme on Leadership and Team Building for Wa Municipal Assembly Members, Youth Parliament Leadership, Radio station Managers and Political parties constituency Youth Organiser of the Wa Municipality. He charged the Radio stations to monitor the work of each assembly member and report what is it for the electorates to know what is happening within the various electoral areas. He also stressed that the development of the assembly depends on the development of each electoral area be it education, health, sports and recreation, entertainment among others. He further reiterated that for the Municipality to be able to developed, we need to work together as a team irrespective of our political affiliations and that they should realise that the absent of one member brings the development to a halt using the spider web as an example that we are all woven as a web and that if one decides to squat or move away from the web the entire members of the group feel the pain. Using the age continuum model of leadership, the Executive Director of Senior Youth and Organizational Development Consult said appearance can be deceptive and that we should be mindful of the old and the young so as to blend the two to achieve the desired results. He added that if you want to be a good leader then you have to respect all views and include all in decision making process.
