Do you know about the SI Scholarship Pioneering Women in STEM? This scholarship is awarded to a female master's programme applicant from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Thailand and Vietnam.

The SI Scholarship Pioneering Women in STEM is an academic scholarship provided for full-time, one- or two-year, master’s studies in designated programmes in Sweden. Through the scholarship, the Swedish Institute (SI) aim to create a more diverse and equal STEM-field as well as develop a network of future global leaders that will contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and drive the development of their home countries forward.

🌐 Introducing the VIRTUALLYEDU Project and Virtual Exchanges! 🌐

With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, we shifted from traditional face-to-face learning to online education, exposing a significant digital gap. The VIRTUALLYEDU project aims to bridge this gap by empowering learners from Sweden, Greece, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and beyond, along with educators and HEI staff, with crucial digital competencies essential for success in the digital age.

Purpose of Virtual Exchanges:

Our virtual exchanges, conducted via the Zoom platform, aim to:

-Familiarize students with the culture of other countries

-Enhance knowledge of cybersecurity and digitalization

-Develop vital digital skills

At the end of the training program, teams will participate in a Digital Hackathon Session where winners will be chosen! Participants will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Before the exchanges begin, Folkuniversitetet will host orientation sessions titled "What will we do?" to better acquaint participants with the training program. Upon completion, the winning team and participants will receive certificates.

Program Duration:

30 hours of online activities

40 hours of offline activities (implemented on the platform, with flexible duration based on task performance)

I am Naa Adukwei Allotey, founder and Executive Director of Education Sweden a legally registered consultancy firm promoting Scandinavian education in its entirety in Africa and beyond. My work experience spans from Ghana where I worked with the public sector (Office of the President) for ten years and also in Sweden. I hold an MBA and MSc in Business Development and Management Studies from the Uppsala University, Stockholm University Business School and University of Gävle all in Sweden. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from the Central University in Accra, Ghana.

I have a rich knowledge of higher education in Sweden having studied extensively (as an international student) and worked with some of its most prestigious universities. I therefore know what it is like to study and also work in Sweden and in a better position to support and advice prospective students and stakeholders. So don't hesitate to contact me if you want to broaden your horizon. It's all part of the empowerment.

My passion to help others reach their full potential also led to starting "The Women of Substance Initiative" which empowers women to gain power and control over their own lives and acquire the ability to make strategic choices and the Teen Empowerment and Leadership Dialogues aimed at reshaping our youth as agents of change.
