Requirements for the Advanced Certificate in Naturopathy and Holistic Medicine at Nyarkotey College
Objective: Select 200 applicants from a pool of 1000, including traditional healers who can read and write, CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) practitioners, health professionals, and those with qualifications in the social sciences and humanities, for the Advanced Certificate in Naturopathy and Holistic Medicine.
1. Eligibility Criteria
Education:
Must have completed Senior High School (SHS) or have an equivalent qualification.
Traditional healers who can read and write are encouraged to apply.
Practitioners with CAM qualifications (e.g., herbal medicine, acupuncture, etc.) are eligible.
Health professionals (e.g., nurses, doctors, therapists) are encouraged to apply.
Individuals with qualifications in social sciences or humanities (e.g., psychology, sociology) with an interest in holistic health are also eligible.
Age: Applicants must be 18 years or older.
2. Application Process
Application Form: Complete and submit the official application form with personal details and educational background.
Statement of Interest: Submit a 300-word essay explaining why you want to study naturopathy and holistic medicine, and how you plan to apply this knowledge in your life or practice.
References: Provide two references (professional or academic) who can support your application.
Interview: Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview to discuss their interest and experience in the field.
3. Selection Criteria
Academic Background & Experience (40%): Evaluation of previous qualifications, including for traditional healers, CAM practitioners, health professionals, and those with social sciences or humanities qualifications.
Essay (20%): Clarity of motivation and understanding of naturopathy.
References (15%): Strength of the recommendations.
Interview (25%): Passion for holistic health, communication skills, and alignment with the program’s values.
4. Diversity and Inclusion
We aim for diverse representation, encouraging applicants from various backgrounds, including traditional healers, health professionals, CAM practitioners, and those with social sciences and humanities qualifications.
This process ensures a balanced and inclusive selection, focusing on motivation, experience, and a genuine interest in holistic health from a variety of professional and academic backgrounds.
