Celebrating Ghanaian Culture with Aberystwyth University! 🎓
It was a real pleasure to visit the beautiful campus of Aberystwyth University and spend time with colleagues and friends who continue to support students from Ghana and across Africa.
A special highlight of the visit was seeing Jack Coates, Regional Manager for Africa, presented with a traditional Ghanaian men’s outfit, including a Fila (a respected West African ceremonial cap commonly worn in Ghana and the region), which he wore wonderfully.
It was also lovely to spend time with Harriet Howes, Head of International Development, discussing international student opportunities and the excellent support available for students choosing Aberystwyth.
I was delighted to be pictured with Jack and Timothy J Hunt following the presentation of these thoughtful gifts from Ghana, a gesture of appreciation for the strong partnership and commitment to supporting African students.
At World Student Advisors, we are proud that so many of our Ghanaian students are thriving at Aberystwyth, both academically and personally, in such a welcoming community.
Thank you to the Aberystwyth team for the warm welcome. We look forward to supporting many more students on their UK study journey!

For students in Ghana planning to study in the UK for the September 2026 and January 2027 intakes, choosing the right university involves balancing quality education with practical financial planning.
The University of Lincoln offers a strong option, with entry considered on a case-by-case basis, including for students with Third-Class degrees, alongside financial support such as Africa discounts depending on GPA.
Structured payment options also make it easier for families to plan ahead, while the university environment supports international students as they adjust academically and socially. Starting early for the September 2026 and January 2027 intakes is important to ensure proper preparation and decision-making.
At WSA, we provide personalised guidance through a dedicated Student Counsellor, supported by a UK Head Office and local presence across Africa. Our approach is transparent, professional, and focused on helping students make well-informed decisions.
We guide students from application to visa and enrolment, ensuring they are properly prepared at every stage of their journey.
Happy to guide anyone exploring options for September 2026 or January 2027.
