ECG Debt Hit 67 Billion New Cedis!!! 😲😲😲😲... How did this Debt start??

According to ECG Boss in November 2024, ECG Debt kept increasing because they were making payments to IPPs in Dollars!!!... So if the dollar rises the debt also increases... So he hoped they made payments in Cedis!!!

Also...
In May 2020 Mr. John-Peter Amewu made this statement:

“It is a fact that on assumption of office, this administration was confronted with a huge indebtedness to the ECG. As of December 2016 the state owed ECG GH¢ 2.63 billion. Government ensured it was current on all bills incurred from 2017.

“At the end of 2019, all government bills with ECG had been paid and government had a credit balance of GH¢ 500 million with ECG and that was more than enough to settle government bills to ECG from January to April 2020,” he said.

Furthermore he stated: “It is also interesting to note that an un-reconciled additional payment of GH¢ 4.14 billion has also been made to various small suppliers of power producers which is yet to be credited to government under the ongoing Power Reconciliation Exercise.”

So where from the current debt of 67 Billion Cedis? 😲😲😲

WEAK REVENUE COLLECTION!!! 😲😲😲

due to weak revenue collection, the ECG is in some cases unable to pay for as much as half the power it buys from generation companies like IPPs and state-owned Volta River Authority, leading to a build-up in arrears.

For instance, its annual losses – technical and systemic – are about 30 percent of its revenue: far above the regulator’s allowable loss margin of 23 percent.

As a result, the company loses around GH¢3.2billion yearly, according to Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.

If not addressed, it is feared that the arrears could pile up to unsustainable levels.

So Now Ghanaians should contribute to keep the lights on??? 😲😲😲...

When Mismanagement is the reason for all these debts!!! 😲😲...

Eeeeiiii.... Merry Go Round oooooo.... A rollercoaster of unbelievables!!! 😂😂

Dr. Ian Pearson, a well-known futurologist, says that if you are under 40 today, you might never die from natural causes because of future medical breakthroughs.😲😲😲😲..

(Remember prior to the invention of Smart Phones many believed it will never be possible... Today it's more than possible!! )

One key method is renewing or replacing body parts. Scientists are developing technologies like genetic engineering to stop or reverse the aging of cells.

They are also working on 3D printing organs, which could replace worn-out parts and keep the body young. This means that instead of aging and breaking down, our bodies could be constantly repaired or rejuvenated.

The big challenge is making it to 2050 to benefit from these technologies.😲😲😲

Dr. Pearson explains that initially, only the rich might afford these treatments, but by the 2060s, they could become available to most people.

So, if you are under 50 now, you have a good chance of living long enough to use these life-extending advances.

Besides organ replacement, researchers are exploring many ways to extend life.

These include gene therapy, stem cell treatments, nanomedicine, and ways to repair or reprogram cells to keep them healthy. For example, some animals like the "immortal jellyfish" can reverse aging, and scientists study them to learn how humans might do the same.

Some futurists, like Ray Kurzweil, predict that by 2045, humans might even become immortal by uploading their minds into computers, leaving behind their biological bodies.

This idea is still very futuristic and faces many scientific and ethical questions, but it shows how far the dream of immortality has come.😲😲

Regardless of what science believes, it is important to lead a good quality of life to prevent lifestyle ailments, and reducing the risk of dying young in the first place.

While you might not live forever, make it worthwhile, healthy, and productive till you are blessed with this life.

Mercy Johnson Has Thyroid Cancer 😲😲😲

The actress made this known in a recent edition of her cooking show on YouTube when she was joined by Joke Silva as a special guest for a conversation.

Mercy Johnson questioned Joke Silva about the health of her husband ,Olu Jacobs during the program.

Joke’s remark was followed by Mercy’s account of how she was given lifelong medication after receiving a cancer diagnosis.

She said; “… Odi [her husband] and I have actually been here and I have never discussed it where we had, like uhm, a scare. I had a cancer scare in quote and I had like my thyroid removed. And it was like a journey for us because we had kids.

“My last was six months at that time and then we kept on saying okay, we have to understand that this is the new us, let’s go get the surgery done.

“And then we got there, they said I was going to be on medication for the rest of my life and it was a reality that we had to sit down.

“You know, them giving me a timing and telling me you can’t miss your medication. Once you wake up that day, that’s the first thing. Telling me all of the side effects.

“So I’m reconciling with this you’re saying, it’s the truth. At the point you realize this is where we are, let’s grow from here, let’s live in this comfort zone.”

Mpox (monkeypox) 😲😲😲

The monkeypox virus was discovered in Denmark (1958) in monkeys kept for research.

The first reported human case of mpox was a nine-month-old boy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (1970) 😲😲

Monkey 🐒 Pox is an infectious disease caused by the monkeypox virus.

It can cause a painful rash, enlarged lymph nodes and fever. Most people fully recover, but some get very sick.
Anyone can get mpox.

It spreads from contact with infected:
persons, through touch, kissing, or s*x
animals, when hunting, skinning, or cooking them
materials, such as contaminated sheets, clothes or needles.

pregnant persons, who may pass the virus on to their unborn baby.

If you have mpox:
Tell anyone you have been close to recently
Stay at home until all scabs fall off and a new layer of skin forms
Cover lesions and wear a well-fitting mask when around other people.

Avoid physical contact!!!

I want to share something painful from my past, something that affected my life forever. So, I got married in the year 2000, and not long after, I gave birth to my son, Raymond. From the moment he was born, our lives became full of hospital visits, sleepless nights, and endless medical expenses.

The sickness didn’t just affect my son, it affected my marriage too. My husband and I were always stressed. We argued constantly. We blamed each other for everything. Love slowly disappeared from our home. We went from lovers to strangers who only talked about hospital bills.

In 2006, the marriage couldn’t survive anymore. We went our separate ways, and I was left to raise Raymond alone. It was hard, so hard that I had to leave my acting career behind. I just couldn’t focus. I was broken. Then came the biggest blow of all, Raymond passed away at the age of 17. That pain is something I carry with me every day.

Please, know this before you fall in love, know your genotype. Love is truly a beautiful thing, but it is not strong enough to carry the weight of this sickness called sickle cell. Know your genotype before love blinds you. I lost everything because I didn’t.

Not long ago, a closed-door meeting was held involving selected media houses and civil society organizations. The goal? To craft a coordinated media agenda to justify an increase in the Sanitation and Pollution Levy.

Beginning sometime next week, they will start flooding the airwaves and social media with carefully selected footage of filthy streets, choked drains, and uncollected refuse across the country. The narrative will be clear: sanitation has worsened under President John Mahama—despite the fact that he has only been in office for just three months.

But here’s the truth.

The Sanitation and Pollution Levy was introduced in 2021, with a promise to fix Ghana’s sanitation problems. It imposes a 10 pesewa charge per litre of petrol and diesel consumed.

Since then, fuel consumption in Ghana has generated huge revenues under this levy:

2021: GHS 264 million

2022: Approximately 4.7 billion litres = GHS 470 million

2023: Approximately 5.5 billion litres = GHS 550 million

2024: Approximately 6.46 billion litres = GHS 646 million

Total revenue from the levy (2021–2024): GHS 1.93 billion

And what do we have to show for it? Very little to no significant improvement in sanitation infrastructure or services. The streets are still dirty, waste collection remains unreliable, and open dumping continues in many communities.

Even more troubling is what investigative journalists uncovered. A request filed by The Fourth Estate to the Ministry of Finance revealed that out of the GHS 264 million collected in 2021, the Ministry disbursed GHS 156 million to a single company, Sewerage Systems GH. Ltd, a subsidiary of the Jospong Group. For what work done?

Let’s also remember how this whole arrangement was orchestrated. The current Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, while in opposition, went to great lengths to manipulate the drafting of the law. He schemed to reconstitute the leadership of the Committee responsible, just so he could gain control and structure the law in a way that would benefit his close associate. If Dr Ayini attempts anything silly, I'll expose him further. I'm only setting the stage for a fight. It's a trap! And trust me, you'll lose! (I'll show you where you got money for "the last one." Is that clue enough?) Let's continue....

Now, the same network is back—this time trying to defend and expand this revenue stream. Their playbook hasn’t changed: create, loot, and share. I know those who were at that meeting, and I say this with certainty—it won’t wash. We have collected too much but little to show.

The people of Ghana are no longer asleep. If we are truly committed to fixing the sanitation crisis, then the solution lies in a decentralized waste management system—one that empowers local governments and communities to take charge of their environment.

Let’s break it down:

The people of Ghana are no longer asleep. If we are truly committed to fixing the sanitation crisis, then the solution lies in a decentralized waste management system—one that empowers local governments and communities to take charge of their environment.

Let’s break it down:

Over the past three years, the Sanitation and Pollution Levy has generated GHS 1.93 billion. If that amount were equitably distributed across Ghana’s 261 districts, each district would receive over GHS 2.4 million annually.

Now imagine this—if waste management were decentralized, every district could empower at least one hardworking, enterprising young person to build a successful business in sanitation. That’s 261 young people across the country who could become well-to-do “borla” millionaires through honest, impactful work.

Wouldn’t you be inspired to see young Ghanaians earning a decent living while helping keep their communities clean?

Instead, we must ask:

How much of the GHS 1.93 billion has gone to Dr. Ayine’s friend? Yes, the NPP introduced the levy—but you, Dr. Ayine, went out of your way to ensure it was passed. You reshaped the Committee to control the process and make sure it benefited a select few.

Let me ask you directly:

After all your efforts, are you proud of the current sanitation situation in Ghana? And now, will you support an increase in the levy—knowing that it will ultimately affect the poor trotro passenger, the market woman, and the struggling youth?

This is not about party politics—it is about justice, equity, and common sense. Ghana doesn’t need more taxes. Ghana needs fairness, accountability, and a vision that empowers its people—not one that enriches a few while the rest live in filth.

I've heard people say, even government have tried but failed to bring Zoomlion down. I'm not here to bring anyone down. I'm rather here to secure a better place up in heaven for my church of Pentecost elder!
