Municipal Director of Education for Ledzokuku; Mrs Theresa Tetteh Visits Martey Tsuru Primary After Rainstorm Damage

The Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Theresa Tetteh has paid a working visit to Martey Tsuru Primary School to assess the extent of damage caused by a recent rainfall, which resulted in portions of the school’s roofing being peeled off.

The visit, which was undertaken with the Public Relations Officer (PRO), focused on classrooms 5A, 5B, 6A, and 6B — the most affected by the storm. The Headteacher, Madam Juliana Yawa Sunu, conducted the team around the damaged areas.

In response to the situation, the Municipal Assembly has pledged to fix the problem. Meanwhile, the school is appealing to individuals and organisations for additional support to help restore normal teaching and learning activities.

The Ledzokuku Municipal Choir; Greater Accra's best Choral Group paid a courtesy call to the Parliament House upon invitation from the Greater MPs.

The visit was to congratulate the Ledzokuku Municipal Choir for their outstanding performance and also for qualifying to represent the entire Greater Accra Region at the National Festival of Arts and Culture in Wa.

They were welcomed into the Chamber by the MP for Ledzokuku, Hon Benjamin Ayiku Narteh.

The choral team was led by the Municipal Cultural Coordinator, who doubles as the PRO, Richard Gyimah, and SISO for Ledzokuku North Circuit, Mad. Florence Korkor Koomson.

The Chairman for the Greater Accra MPs Caucus, Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye charged the choir to victory. He said, "You must win."
Other MPs took their turn to congratulate and encourage the Choral group to victory.

The former Mayor of Accra, now the MP for Ablekuma South, Hon. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije couldn't hide his joy but embrace his full support to the "AGENDA BRING THE TROPHY HOME."

The Ranking Member for Education, Hon. Peter Kwasi Nortsu-Kotoe took his turn with the MP for Krowor, Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey.
They both expressed their sincerest joy and wished them well.

The Choir sang melodiously to the admiration of all the MPs present.

The team was also accompanied by three astute trainers and a facilitator from LekMA 12 JHS.

The Municipal Director of Education - Ledzokuku, Mrs. Theresa Tetteh addressed participants at the ongoing Bead Making and Bead Wear Workshop. She was surprised and enthused with the exceptional skills exhibited by the Teachers. Mrs. Tetteh reiterated the fact that there are no mistakes when it comes to creative works. To her every mistake is a new style. She encouraged the Teachers to take their practical lessons serious. The Ledzokuku Education Director explained the need for all and sundry to promote skills development among our learners and called for more practical lesson workshops. The first cohort ended successfully yesterday. The second cohort begins today for all KG 2, BASIC 2, BASIC 4, BASIC 6 and BASIC 8 Teachers.

The Municipal Director of Education for Ledzokuku, Mrs. Theresa Tetteh paid a working visit to the Teshie Technical Training Center (TTTC). She expressed her sincere gratitude to Management and Staff of the Training Center for progressively sustaining the appetite for Technical and Vocational education within the Ledzokuku Municipality and beyond. Mr. Isaac Amponsah, Principal of TTTC was thankful for the visit and assured the Municipal Director of Education of his continues support to provide quality technical and vocational education. He prayed for more classrooms and workshop space.
Mrs. Theresa Tetteh was accompanied by the Head of HRMD for the Education Directorate Mrs. Ivy Rita Agyei Twum and the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Richard Gyimah.

A high-powered Monitoring Team from the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly and the Municipal Education Directorate paid a working visit to all the Examination centers at the start of the Basic Education Certificate Examination(BECE) within the Ledzokuku Municipality. The team led by the Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Theresa Tetteh at an official opening ceremony held at one of the centers, the Director of Education expressed her joy seeing the candidates readiness to write the exams. She encouraged them to be independent in their thoughts and eschew any form of examination malpractice. She also expressed her sincere gratitude to all Teachers for their hard-work in preparing the candidates. She prayed for them and wished them well. The Municipal Chief Executive for Ledzokuku, Hon. Mordecai Quarshie couldn't hide his excitement seeing the candidates poised for victory. He recounted his early years how he had to at all cost make it through life. To him education was his bedrock for continued success. He encouraged the candidates to take the examination very serious. Also part of the team were the Head of Monitoring and Supervision - Mr. Seth Adu Annorson, Head of EMIS -
Mr. Godsway Kumado and the Public Relations Officer - Mr. Richard Gyimah. There are thirteen (13) Examination Centers in Ledzokuku. There is also a total number of 145 Schools taking part in the examination: Public -26 and Private -119
The total number of candidates is 3801:
Boys - 1798 and Girls - 2003.

The Church of Pentecost- Teshie Nungua Area has donated a desktop computer with its accessories and an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) to the Ledzokuku Municipal Education Directorate. The items were received on behalf of the Education Directorate by the Municipal Director of Education Mrs. Theresa Tetteh. Mrs. Tetteh expressed her gratitude to the Church of Pentecost and promised the items donated will be put to the best of use in order to benefit the Ghanaian child. Apostle Wilberforce Nkrumah Agyeman (Area Head of C.O.P. Teshie Nungua) revealed the Church's commitment to support the provision of quality and accessible education for all. The Ledzokuku Municipal Education Directorate has launched the KNOW YOUR CIRCUITS AND SISOs PROJECT. This initiative will promote and profile each of the four CIRCUITS: get to know their boundaries, up close with the School Improvement Support Officers(SISOs), share the success stories of the various circuits, challenges faced, projections and many more. It will be an audio visual documentary. Mr. Victor Noye Tawiah speaking to LEKMED LENS appreciated the effort made so far. He said this initiative is the first of its kind. The Managing Editor for LEKMED LENS, Mr. Richard Gyimah praised the Director of Education for his timely creative interventions. The launch was attended by the four SISOs, Head of Unit - EMIS and the Community Liaison Officer.

Teshie Technical Training Centre (Fashion Department) had a Fashion Show dubbed "T-TECH FASHION SHOW 2022.” The Show was attended by Officers from the Ledzokuku Municipal Education Directorate, Board Chair of the School Board, Management and Staff of Teshie Technical Institute, Parents and well wishers. Speaking on behalf of the Director of Education, Mr. Godsway Kumado - Head of EMIS outlined Mr. Noye Tawiah's (Director of Education) plans to technologically and practically transform the technical institute. Lobbying to provide an ultramodern workshop facility for the school and repair of all damaged structures. He couldn't hide his excitement seeing students display such incredible talents in the fashion industry. "The future is bright," he said. Mr. Amponsah, Principal of the Training Centre praised his students and charged other departments to follow suit.

The Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Victor Noye Tawiah paid a working visit to O'Reilly Senior School today to monitor the first core paper (Social Studies) of WASSCE 2022. A total number of 569 candidates sat for the Social Studies paper at O'Reilly. This total is made up of 268(males) and 301 girls. Two candidates(females) were absent. In a brief meeting with the new Headmistress of O'reilly Senior School, Mad. Nadia Lartechoe Annan, Mr. Tawiah charged the Headmistress to continue her hard work and never relent in her efforts to grossly monitor and supervise Teaching and Learning in the School. He urged her to make collective-results paramount to just procedures or processes.
Mad. Nadia Lartechoe Annan thanked the Municipal Director of Education for his kind words and visit. The Director of Education was accompanied by the Community Liaison Officer, Richard Gyimah.

Ledzokuku Director of Education, Mr. Victor Noye Tawiah today participated in the presentation of the printing and distribution of additional Learning Transition to
English (T2E) Plus TLMs to non-T2E Plus schools across Ghana by USAID Learning to Ministry of Education - GES. The program was held at the premises of Buck Press - Ofankor. In attendance was Her Excellency US Ambassador to Ghana. Other special dignitaries were the Minister of Education, Deputy Director of Education(Quality and Access), Regional Director of Education - GAR, Team from USAID Learning led by the Chief of Party, Director General for NaCCA and many more.
