GHANA ARMED FORCES TRAINED CITY RESPONSE TEAM PERSONNEL PASS OUT

Eight Hundred and Sixty-Seven (867) Trainees under the City Response Team (CRT) Initiative have passed out at the 5Bn Square in Burma Camp on Tuesday 26 April 2022, after successfully undergoing 4 weeks of basic training at the Battle Training Camp (BTC), Bundase.

The CRT is one of the interventions of the ‘Operation Clean Your Frontage’ Campaign which is a long-term plan to maintain discipline and order in our urban region as part of government’s strategic initiative of “Making Greater Accra Work.”

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon Henry Quartey disclosed that with the help of the Ghana Armed Forces the trainees have undergone a 4-week intensive training in basic drill, crowd control, VIP protection, personal security and voice procedure amongst others. He therefore hoped that given the high standards of our Armed Forces, coupled with the smart turn out of the personnel, they would be able to deliver on their duties.

During the graduating ceremony, the General Officer Commanding Southern Command, Brig Gen MA Amoah commended the trainees for successfully completing the training while stressing that “The Ghana Armed Forces recognises that cooperation with its civil partners was important in nation building therefore training assistance to the Accra City Response team was a welcomed responsibility.” He further added that civil – military cooperation has been a long-standing tradition for the Ghana Armed Forces and the military in the past has partnered and cooperated with a number of civil institutions and organizations.

The Minister for Interior, Mr Ambrose Dery in his speech, applauded the Regional Minister for setting up the CTR to ensure the actualization of the “Let’s Make Greater Accra Work” Agenda.
