​Ohawu Agricultural College, located in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region, is currently accepting applications for its specialized agricultural programs.

As a premier institution affiliated with the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), OAC focuses on developing middle-level manpower for Ghana’s agricultural sector.

✅️​Agritop Ltd: OAC collaborates with Agritop to run a specialized course in Greenhouse Technology at the Greenhouse Capacity Building and Training Center (GCBTC) in Dawhenya.

​Available Programs

​🎓 Programs & Entry Requirements
​The college offers several pathways for prospective students:

✅️​HND in General Agriculture:

Requires six credit passes (A–D or A1–D7) in English, Maths, and Integrated Science/Social Studies, plus three elective subjects relevant to the program.

✅️​Diploma in General Agriculture:

Requires four SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE passes including English and Mathematics.

✅️​Certificate in General Agriculture:

Requires five SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE passes including English and Mathematics.

✅️​Diploma in Gen Agric & Animal Health (Veterinary):

Requires four SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE passes including English and Mathematics.

​👤 Mature Applicants

​Applicants who are at least 25 years old can apply for the Certificate or Diploma programs. You must provide proof of age and have at least two years of relevant work experience.

Ohawu Agricultural College is now hosting Agriprenurship Support Centre in Volta Region

Wednesday, 12th December 2025 marked a major milestone for youth agribusiness development in the Volta Region.

MBCAfrica, in collaboration with Ohawu Agricultural College under the ACTIVATE Project, successfully hosted the Business Clinic Workshop at Ohawu Agricultural College, leading to the establishment of the Agripreneurship Support Centre (ASC). The engagement brought together key stakeholders from government institutions, private sector associations, and regulatory bodies to reflect, refine, and validate a practical and sustainable ASC model aimed at building skills, creating jobs, and empowering youth and women in agribusiness. Through structured discussions, program designs, and training frameworks, participants explored actionable pathways to strengthen agripreneurship and unlock economic opportunities across the region.

We are grateful to all partners and participants whose insights and commitment are shaping a resilient future for agribusiness in Ghana. Together, we are transforming ideas into enterprises and youth into job creators.

Day 2: Ohawu Agricultural College took part in the Federation of Ghanaian Exporters (FGE) Expo 25. The event centered on crucial topics for the agricultural sector, including agricultural financing, current global agricultural marketing trends, and the transformative impact of AI technology in agriculture. A key theme was how Ghana can leverage these advancements to benefit its horticulture sector.
