But before I built this movement, I was just a kid with a stutter, dyslexia, and a chip on my shoulder. School wasn’t easy for me. Reading felt like a battle. Speaking out loud was something I avoided at all costs. I didn’t feel smart. I didn’t feel seen. An

Key to excelling in high-pressure situations…. This is how I made the adjustment. I was lucky enough to participate in an MLB showcase. The first day, I didn’t show what I was capable of. I felt like I had to prove I was worthy to everyone. This thought got me outside of my comfort zone. I pressed; I tried to prove that I was worthy of being at the showcase. This train of thinking leads to failure. In attempting to show everyone I was worthy, I forgot to compete with myself. Although I felt great at the plate, I did not perform because of outside influences. The next day, I swore I would not care about proving myself. Instead, I was only focused on competing with myself. I focus solely on my process and negated results. Oddly enough, I performed the way I wanted to. I caught two barrels in two at-bats. This is what I took away from the experience. High-pressure situations are only as big as you make them. The common denominator in all cases is you. Do not allow your mind to get lost in the stakes. You are always competing with yourself. Nothing is more important than that. Win the battle within, and the rest will come. It is never you vs the pitcher. It’s always you versus yourself. Are you mentally strong enough to stay within yourself, no matter the stakes? It’s You vs You. You are the master of your fate. If you do not believe you are in control at the plate, you are a victim. Victims are prone to failure. Take it or leave it. I have failed plenty in high-pressure situations. This is my experience. Hopefully, you can learn from this. I hope every hitter reading this post piggybacks off of my experience. I failed (tried everything), so you don’t have to.

How Acuña became the best hitter on the planet… As I continue on my baseball journey, I decided what better way to improve myself than to do it with a bunch of swing junkies just like me. Because of that, I’m proud to announce that I’m officially launching a hitting class, where I’ll teach my hitting information live, 3 times per week, for all of my fellow members to learn and interact together. I did a full breakdown on Ronald Acuña and the adjustments he made to become the best hitter on the planet. If you want to watch the full breakdown and get more information on my hitting class, comment the word BREAKDOWN and I’ll DM you the link to the video

This was a live AB off a AAA arm ( at the time, two years ago). I was rehabbing from a torn hamstring, and this was my first swing back. This was a 94mph fastball on the inner black. I was a tick late, but I got my hands inside the ball and hit a double to right center field. Notice how close my hands are to my helmet. I had a terrible habit of pushing my hands away from my body in my load. This automatically made my swing long and slow. It even killed my chances of adjustability because my direction was bad. I tried to make my top hand touch my helmet and my stance. My goal was to load while trying to keep my top hand on my helmet. This never actually happened. Instead, I loaded my hands the right amount, but it felt like I didn’t move them at all. This is a prime example of natural versus feel. If you want to make a small change in the real, then there needs to be an extreme feel change.

Often, we take breaking balls because we are not expecting them. Just because that pitch surprises you doesn’t mean you don’t have time to get a swing off. The breaking ball is much slower than the fastball, so you have time to adjust. Take advantage of that meatball. Don't let it be another strike. When you hit them, they go far sometimes.

How to stop thinking at the plate……. Conviction On the Homerun, I went with my first instinct. There was zero hesitation. I took the box as confident as ever and trusted my Preparation. I was not concerned about what the pitcher would throw. The result of the at-bat was the last thing on my mind. I sold out for the process. It was me versus me. There was only one thing to do, and it was to control the controllables and trust my instinct. On the pitch, I fouled off, I was thinking. I hesitated and missed an opportunity for another bomb. I was right, but I second-guess myself and ended up being wrong. If we aim to eliminate the thinking from hitting, we must make it as instinctual as possible. The only way to do that is by trusting in our instincts. We must work on being reactionary in practice. This means anything but grooved batting practice. These are ways to work on being reactionary: Mixed BP, random fastball-slider machine, or just varying the speeds on a BP fastball. While doing these, this should be your focus: swinging at good pitches and taking pitches you can’t drive, you will get fooled, but it’s essential that you can still find the barrel. Lastly, to be reactionary, you must stop swinging and start hitting. There’s a difference. If you’re not working on something specific or challenging yourself, you are getting worse.

“Load under yourself” means to load within the frame of your body. This helps him stay balanced & centered throughout the load.

Always remember, every hitter is different. This mentality is great for guys who unintentionally overswing in games.
