Currently sat painting the next batch of Tots Box tiles watching true crime, apparently my brain refuses to focus without somebody getting ******** on telly.
Big thanks to the EWU crew and MrBallen for keeping me company while I work.
AND whoever at Shuttle Art decided to make THIS many nice pastel colours clearly doesn’t understand the stress they’ve caused me. I spend half the day painting and the other half staring at tiles going “ooooh… but that one’s niiiiicer.”
Still, they’re my go to paints because they’re non toxic, which really matters when you’re making sensory products for children and families. Safe, lovely colours, easy to work with… just don’t ask me to pick a favourite shade!
So if anybody needs me, I’ll be here. Painting, watching true crime and arguing with myself.

This isn't just a toy.
It's reassurance, routine, trust and emotional safety in a form children can understand.
Don’t just say goodbye, do it.
This was a year ago, but i still laugh! 🤦♀️
Its official. We were misdiagnosed! Its a NO for Rett Syndrome.
What a roller coaster! No Yes No Yes No ....
My first borns first GCSE - ✔️ Done!
Good luck to every young person starting their GCSE exams.
Do your best. Be proud of the effort you put in. Get some sleep. Drink water. Breathe.
But also remember this:
GCSEs are important, but they are not your entire future.
One set of exams does not decide your worth, your intelligence, your success, your creativity, your kindness, or the life you will go on to build.
There are people with top grades still figuring life out at 40.
There are people who failed exams and built incredible lives.
You can retake exams.
You can change direction.
You can restart.
You can surprise yourself later.
So work hard, absolutely.
But do not believe that one stressful season defines the rest of your story.
You are bigger than a grade on a piece of paper

One of the loveliest things about creating The Tots Box is hearing how families and professionals describe it in their own words.
This review really captured the heart behind it:
“The purpose of the piece is to help a child understand that when an adult leaves home they will return.”
And honestly, that’s exactly why The Tots Box was created.
Kids naturally learn through play and most children love the feeling of having a role or “job” to do.
The psychology behind The Tots Box is that it combines visual reassurance with hands on interaction. Children are not just being told what is happening around them, they are actively part of the routine.
While many ND children benefit hugely from visual routines and reassurance tools, The Tots Box was never designed just for autism. It’s for any child who struggles with separation, transitions, anxiety around goodbyes, nursery drop offs, school runs, changes in routine, or simply understanding where everybody goes during the day.
Some children just need to SEE it.
By physically moving the little family pieces onto destination tiles like school, work, appointments, shops, or clubs, children become part of the routine instead of feeling confused by it.
Then everybody returns home together 💛
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful review. Reading words like this makes every painted tile, late night, and tissue wrapped package completely worth it.
