It's that time of year again folks, where I'm off for the month of May doing my day job, as an archaeological Finds Officer with the undergraduate fieldschool. Teaching students all the varied joys of field archaeology, as well as being the resident Finds Specialist onsite. Its looking to be a great season! 🏺⛏🔎

Etsy shop is on a 'makers-break' so any orders placed will be dispatched in early June. Still bimbling through custom orders. But you know where I am if you have any questions.

Hey Folks 👋 been AWOL for a bit, as I had a lovely break over Easter seeing family. Now fully back into it at the day job, getting ready for our yearly Archaeology Fieldschool with throughout all of May.🏺

I'm very thankful to have had the opportunity to be involved in the Jorvik Viking Festival here in York for the last 16years, in some way, shape or form. 🙏I've met some incredible people, some of who are now life long friends, as well as meeting new folks every year! 🫂💜
From wearing chainmaile outside the Jorvik Viking Centre⚔, to setting a ship on fire🏹🔥, becoming a Viking Trader 💰 and now the Nalbinding Girl-Boss 🪡🧶💪

Wow! What a wonderfully busy day trading! So many people wanted to learn Nalbinding today. The Starter Kits, Books and bone needles have been flying off the table today! 📕🪡🧶

So great to have some wonderful chats with folks encountering Nalbinding for the first time. As well as returning Nalbinders asking for tips and tricks, which I am more than happy to help with. 😊

Wow!! What a fantastic 1st day of 10th Century Traders! 😄 There was a nice ebb and flow today of busy and calm periods. But folks were incredibly complimentary on all my Nalbinding, very humbling, very kind comments 🙏Thank You so much 💜
Think my favourite was a chap who went "oh my goodness those stitches are just like the 'Coppergate sock' thats amazing", i thought his soul had left his body! 🤣 and a pair of ladies who tried on, i think every item, as they were just so excited to learn about Nalbinding for the first time and were just in wonder at the texture and durability of the textile finish. I love it! Its so wholesome for me to watch the joy in peoples faces when they encounter my Nalbinding for the first time ☺ beautiful to be able to share it all with you. Same time 10am till 4.30pm tomorrow, Merchant Adventureres Hall, York 🪡🧶
