๐ฉโ๐ฌ Meet the Researcher: Dr Emma Tecwyn ๐ง โจ
Ever wondered how kids, animals, and even primates solve puzzles? ๐ค๐ Emma is a developmental psychologist investigating the origins of problem-solving skills across species!
Using fun experiments with physical puzzles and computer-based tasks, Emma's research explores:
๐น Mental Simulation in Kids ๐งฉ โ Do children imagine different outcomes before making a choice? How do their thinking skills shape their decisions?
๐น Causal Reasoning ๐ โ How do kids figure out cause-and-effect? Can they understand that some actions make things happen?
๐น Social Learning & Overimitation ๐ โ Why do children copy even unnecessary actions? How do social cues influence this behavior?
Emma has also studied orangutans planning ahead ๐ฆง, capuchin monkeys using probabilities to make decisions ๐ต, dogs understanding gravity ๐ถ, and children's sense of time โณ!
Emma's work helps us understand how young minds develop, learn, and problem-solveโthrough childhood and across evolution itself! ๐ง ๐ก
