UKSTEM is a market leader in the design, development and supply of educational programmes and resources What is STEM?

Put simply, it’s SCIENCE | TECHNOLOGY | ENGINEERING | MATHEMATICS

STEM provides a bridge between school and the real world. It’s a way of thinking, an approach to learning that helps students discover the potential of their own future. We focus on these subject areas not only because the skills and knowledge in each discipline are essential for student success, but also because these fields are deeply embedded in the real world and in how students learn most effectively.

A great testimonial for the Global STEM Awards

23/01/2026

We were absolutely thrilled this week to receive a filmed testimonial for the Global STEM Awards ✨ from two incredibly talented students who completed their Platinum Level Global STEM Awards in 2025 🎉 with their 'LUMA' (Lighting Up Minds in Aerospace) educational STEM Rocket resource, that they not only designed and developed themselves but has now also made it an available resource for schools to access and use.

'LUMA' is a great project for young scientists to learn about design, 3D printing and launching their own model rocket - yes it really is "Rocket Science"!

Thank you very Maxim Kyrychuk and Lucie V. for sending in your film 🚀 and good luck for the future 🚀 ✨ 🌎

For more information on LUMA you can check out: (https://lnkd.in/eBtVHq-b) or email them directly: [email protected].

A huge congratulations to Daniellita Defang, a 16 year old student from Cameroon, who completed the Gold (Higher) level, Global STEM Award.
Daniellita produced a fantastic project on solar energy, relating her project directly to the energy challenges within her local community. Daniellita identified a range of related careers as well as the development of her own skills in problem solving and creativity within her project and she has a keen interest in mechanical engineering as a possible future career pathway. Huge Congratulations to Silas Jackson, student from St Anselms School in Derbyshire, who has just achieved a Gold Global STEM Award for his project on Aquaculture in Scotland. It was incredible read Silas' project and his passion for marine science driven by his inspiration from marine scientist Jacques Cousteau.

Silas had this to say about taking part in the Global STEM Awards and his 'Gold' project:

"I have already started my STEM Platinum project which demonstrates what a fantastic inspiration UK STEM is. As I approached the end of my Bronze, Silver and Gold awards I was already thinking about where I was going to focus next.

In 1973, Jacques Cousteau, the world renowned ocean explorer, wrote: “With earth’s burgeoning populations to feed, we must turn to the seas with new understanding and new technology”. Cousteau was right and this is why my Gold UK STEM project featured in this photograph focused on Scottish Aquaculture.

This future needs young people like us to be inspired to join the scientific community and make these critical changes happen. Aquacultural Engineers will design, build and install Aquaculture facilities. Marine Materials Scientists will help us develop sustainable alternatives to traditional materials, like the Algal Wall ski product I studied and Marine Conservationists/Activists will raise awareness of the consequences of unsustainable practices endangering ecosystems.

Together we can make Cousteau’s vision a reality and UK STEM will have played an important role in inspiring us to do this."
