🥕Growing vegetables🥔

A parent has kindly been allowing our children to visit and grow fruit and vegetables at their nearby allotment.

The children have loved the trips to the allotment, connecting with nature and the learning about how to grow food.

This week the children helped our chef team to prepare courgettes and spinach to create a delicious homemade soup which they enjoyed eating together!

🌘Solar Eclipse!🌘

On Wednesday 12th August around 7pm there will be a solar eclipse. It is important if anyone wants to view this that they do so safely as looking at a solar eclipse without specialist protection can unfortunately cause significant long term eye damage.

Here is a following link from the children's Newsround BBC site with some further information:

On Wednesday 12 August 2026, people in the UK and Ireland will be able to see a partial solar eclipse.

🚑Ambulance Visit🚑

On Wednesday we had a parent who is a paramedic kindly bring an ambulance to nursery. They taught all of our children from our babies to our preschool children about ways to keep themselves safe and healthy, about the role of a paramedic, the equipment a paramedic uses and the different aspects of an ambulance.

Everyone was fascinated and learnt such a lot!

Thank you again!

🐸 5 Little Speckled Frogs 🐸

Some of our Dancing Dragonflies children (one of our baby rooms) have been enjoying a sensory tuff tray for the song 5 Little Speckled Frogs. They have been exploring different textures, books and singing the song with their key person and the room practitioners.

Maybe you would like to sing this at home?!

🎶5 little speckled frogs,
sat on a speckled log,
eating some most delicious bugs,
yum yum,
1 jumped into a pool
where it was nice and cool
then there were 4 green speckled frogs
glub glub🎶 - Then repeat with 4 little speckled frogs, losing one frog each time until there are none left!
