πΎβ¨ Enriching Experiences for Students and Animals β¨πΎ
At Askham Bryan College, enrichment isnβt just for our animals β itβs for our students too! π
As a well-earned break from Labs and ESP assessments, our first year T Level Science students have been getting hands-on by designing and building new enrichment for our meerkat mob. ποΈπΎ
This has been a fantastic opportunity for students to apply their knowledge in a practical setting, developing skills in:
π§ Design and problem solving
π§ Understanding animal behaviour
πΏ Creating stimulating environments to promote natural behaviours
And the best part? The results speak for themselves! From the photos, itβs clear that both our students and the meerkats have thoroughly enjoyed the experience πΎπ
Opportunities like this highlight the value of learning beyond the classroom β supporting animal welfare while building real-world skills and confidence in our students.
