This is an exciting time for culture in North Yorkshire. The recent creation of the new Mayoral Combined Authority brings new opportunities for skills and sector development, whilst recent Arts Council Priority Place investment in Selby, Tadcaster and Sherburn, and Scarborough’s Town Deals programme and Long-Term Plan for Towns funding provide even more opportunities for community-led development of where we live, work and play in North Yorkshire.
Culture and creativity is woven throughout these opportunities. Culture gives us the opportunity to enrich lives, increase health and wellbeing, support skills and employment development, and be the catalyst for regeneration.
This is your chance to tell us what you want to see for culture in North Yorkshire. Closing date is Thursday 15 August 2024.

Five questions to help us consult on development of a new cultural strategy for North Yorkshire.

“I’ve looked forward to every session. I come away from it feeling lighter every time and even though I haven’t come away with ‘this is the thing I must do and click my fingers’, I come away feeling like I know where to go and I know what to do. It’s a long journey and I have what it takes. And I have other people and resources I can draw upon.”
Lauren has been a regular attendee at The Artery sessions and now has the knowledge and tools to help her business grow.
