ECPS children took part in a Young Potters workshop at OSR projects in West Coker earlier this term. They worked so hard and really enjoyed working with different types of clay and adding an under glaze their work.

Owls Class had a wonderful time on their visit to Foxdown Children’s Farm.
The children were fascinated to learn about the wide range of animals and loved having the chance to feed and groom them, an experience they thoroughly enjoyed. They also had great fun making the most of the fantastic outdoor toys, which provided lots of fun play throughout the day.

We would like to extend our thanks to Foxdown Children’s Farm for such a memorable learning experience. A big thank you to our lovely volunteers for joining us and supporting the children throughout the day. We are also very grateful to our East Coker PTFA for subsidising part of the cost of the visit, helping to make this day possible for all of the children.

Children enjoyed celebrating Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. Magpies and Eagles learnt about his life and achievements and heard from Steve Backshall. At the end of the day, the whole school sang ‘Happy Birthday’.

Last term, Robins class enjoyed bringing together learning from across the curriculum to create this wonderful collaborative book. 📕
Each child worked in their DT lessons to create the slider page, based on either a polar, desert or rainforest region.
They then spent some time in literacy writing descriptive sentences about their regions, and finally recorded their page to create this video book for you to enjoy.

Eagles and Magpies classes celebrated Earth Day and the start of their rainforest topic with a live lesson from the Eden Project. The children learnt about the rainforest ecosystem and how plants are useful in the rainforest, at Eden and in our lives.

Magpies’ class tomato plant has got off to a lonely start. I fear the other seeds may have come to a ‘rotten end’ in damp conditions. Do not fear if yours has not germinated. We will plant some peas as well and hopefully will have more success.

WOW! What a night!
A massive congratulations to our Dance crew. Last night they performed on stage at Westlands Leisure in the Primary Festival of Dance - and they smashed it! We are so proud of them.
Thanks Keri Hill Dance for yet another amazing show! We already can't wait until next year.

🌟 Owls Class Super Structures Showcase! 🌟
Look at these amazing super structures created by the children in Owls Class for their project-based homework. We are so impressed with the creativity, effort, and brilliant facts they shared about their chosen structures. The pride they took in presenting their models was wonderful to see. A huge well done to all the children and a big thank you to parents for your continued support.
In school the children have also been busy building even more wonderful super structures, linked to our “Go Jetting Around the Continents” learning journey. It’s been fantastic exploring famous landmarks from around the world and bringing them to life through hands‑on making and model building. We’ve also been thoroughly enjoying having our new Kapla construction set in class. We’d like to say a big thank you to the PTFA for funding this fantastic resource.
