👀Back to school reminders...
We look forward to welcoming Nursery children, Year 1 and Year 2 back to school on Monday 7th September. Reception children start school on Wednesday 9th September.
Below are some reminders for the new term and information on booking breakfast and after school clubs.
🥜Allergies - reminder that we are a nut-free school. For the safety of all children, especially those with allergies, snacks and lunchboxes must not contain nuts or any nut products. If we find any items containing nuts, your child will not be able to eat it in school/nursery and it will be given back to you at the end of the day. Remember, chocolate spread and cereal bars often contains nuts so please check the labels.
🛴Scooters and bikes - For everyone's safety please can children walk into school pushing their bike/scooter in the morning, and wait until they are out of school before riding bikes and scooters in the afternoon, to prevent any crashes and bumps in narrow pathways.
👖Uniform - please remember we have made some changes to the uniform policy for September to include a blue polo shirt. When buying uniform, please remember to get PE (sports) kit too. This comes into school and remains on their hook every day so it is accessible for PE lessons and after school clubs.
👂🏼Jewellery - Jewellery is not permitted other than small studs for pierced ears. Watches may be worn but are the child’s responsibility (smart watches are not allowed).
📵Mobile phones - Children are not permitted to bring mobile phones into school. Any child found to have a mobile phone will need to hand it to the teacher for safe keeping and it will be given to the parent/carer at the end of the day.
🥤Water bottles - The school will be providing every child in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 with their own water bottle to use throughout the school day. Each bottle will be clearly labelled with the child's name and filled with fresh water each morning. This initiative aims to ensure that all children have easy access to water and are encouraged to develop healthy hydration habits.
🚸After School Clubs - Nursery staff and school staff will combine to run one club in the outside NEST classroom by the carpark. School and Nursery children can be booked until 5pm each day, but booking must be made in advance.
Normal nursery fees apply, early years funded hours can be used towards this. Bookings for school children will be charged at £5 until 4.15pm, £8 until 5pm. Invoices will be sent half termly.
On a Wednesday Premier Education sports coaches will be running FOOTBALL and on Thursday they will run GYMNASTICS clubs in the school hall until 4.15pm. Bookings will be taken at the school office and invoiced each half term at £5 per session. Children can be taken from these clubs to the after school club until 5pm at an additional £3 charge.
Families entitled to Pupil Premium funding will receive a 50% discount. If you think you might be eligible, please apply online: https://service.somerset.gov.uk/free-school-meals
🥣Breakfast Club - Breakfast club will continue in the school hall each morning from 8am and is open to nursery and school children. Nursery children are charged at £6 and school children £5.
📧To book after school club or breakfast club - Please email the school office with your child's full name, class and the days and times you wish to book. Both breakfast and after school club bookings are for the half term. For last minute emergency bookings please telephone or speak to the office to check availability.
We look forward to seeing you all next week! 😀
