📚 Liv’s Tutoring – Availability Update📚

A little update on my current tutoring availability and upcoming changes.

📅 Current Availability

* Monday evenings:** Fully booked
* Tuesday evenings:** Fully booked
* Wednesday & Thursday:** Limited availability currently available. Please note that these days may change due to my work commitments in September, but I will keep parents informed.

I have recently had **another day become available**, so I will now be contacting people to **confirm dates and times** based on the current enquiries and waiting list. Once I have worked through these, I will provide a further
update on any remaining availability.

I currently have a **waiting list** and have received lots of enquiries, so I am also looking at ways to offer some additional tutoring spaces.

**🌟 Saturday Morning Availability**
I am currently looking into opening up **Saturday mornings** for tutoring, depending on demand.

⏰ **Saturday hours: 9am – 12 noon**

These sessions could be offered **online or in person**, giving me the opportunity to take on a few more students from the current waiting list.

💷 **Prices**
My current rate remains **£25 per hour**.

For in-person sessions **outside of Wrexham**, a mileage charge will apply.

With the continued increase in fuel prices and general costs, there **may be a small increase to my hourly rate from September**. If this is the case, I will make sure everyone is informed **in advance** before any change is made.

What a wonderful final session with this fantastic learner before her very well-deserved summer break! 🌞

I’m incredibly proud of how far she has come. The progress she’s made has been amazing, and it’s been such a pleasure to watch her confidence and skills grow.

Today’s session was full of fun games, lots of laughter, and a recap of everything we’ve been learning over the past few weeks. To top it all off, I was also spoiled with a lovely gift, which was such a thoughtful surprise. 💝

Great session tonight as we head towards the start of the summer holidays! 🌞

Despite the excitement of the holidays being so close, this learner was still eager to learn. The progress they’ve made has been amazing, and it’s wonderful to see their confidence continue to grow.

Tonight, we focused on building new vocabulary while using the sounds we already know. We also tackled homophones—definitely one of the trickier areas! 😊

Lots of independent thinking, determination, and hard work tonight. I’m so proud of their effort! 🌟

🌞 First Week Back After Half Term!

Today, we started with a recap of the spelling patterns ‘ge’ and ‘dge’. After a little support to get started, the learner quickly worked independently and showed great confidence.

We then explored a new spelling rule where the letter ‘c’ makes an ‘s’ sound. The learner grasped this concept very quickly and completed a crossword activity independently.

Next, we completed a matching activity, linking words to pictures and identifying whether ‘c’ and ‘s’ made the same or different sounds. This provided a great opportunity to reinforce today’s learning.

To make our recap fun, we finished with a spin-the-wheel game, where the learner demonstrated an excellent understanding of the spelling patterns we had covered.

We ended the session by revisiting spellings learned before half term as well as today’s new words. I was incredibly impressed with how quickly the learner recalled and applied her knowledge. A fantastic first session back with lots of enthusiasm and confidence shown throughout! ⭐📚👏

Yesterday’s tutoring session was packed with fun and learning! ✨

We began with a warm-up activity focusing on rhyming words, where the learner matched and coloured the rhyming pairs — they did brilliantly with this activity! 🌟

We then moved on to exploring the new spelling patterns “dge” and “ge”. We discussed vowels and the spelling patterns they usually follow, practised pronouncing words, and worked hard on spelling them correctly.

Next, the learner completed some sentence-writing activities while practising their joined-up handwriting, which they are really enjoying at the moment. We focused on encouraging independent writing, and they did extremely well! ✍️

To make learning even more engaging, we played an anagram game where the learner had to rearrange letters into the correct order using the spelling patterns we had learned.

We also incorporated our new spelling words into a fun fish game, taking turns to say words and challenge each other to find them. 🐟

We finished the session with a quiz game to test the learner’s understanding of the spelling patterns by choosing the correct spelling to match each picture.

Such a fantastic session with lots of enthusiasm, confidence, and progress shown throughout! 👏📚

Today we started by reviewing our phonics cards and checking which sounds we felt confident with — and amazingly, we knew them all! Such a huge improvement and something to be very proud of. 🌟

We then used the fishing game to help introduce some tricky words that we’ll be focusing on over the next few weeks. The learner also practised writing independent sentences, remembering to use capital letters, full stops, finger spaces, and sounding out words carefully to choose the correct spellings.

We spent some time reading together and worked hard to sound out even trickier words. I also read sentences from the book aloud for the learner to write down independently, encouraging confidence with spelling and sentence structure.

To finish, the learner practised her joined-up handwriting while writing her sentences — another skill she is making fantastic progress with. A lovely session full of confidence and determination! ✨

We used new resources to help the child learn tricky words that cannot always be sounded out. This game helped the child identify the words and say them confidently ☺️

First session back after the bank holiday ☺️

We started by checking last week’s handwriting homework — it was fantastic to see such amazing effort!

Next, we created some notes and ideas to help us build our sentences. While writing, we really focused on our handwriting, thinking carefully about tall and small letters, as well as using capital letters, full stops, and finger spaces correctly.

We also spent some time practising pencil control to support our writing skills.

After that, we completed a comprehension activity, reading a short text and answering questions about it.

To finish the session, we worked on our joined-up handwriting, which has improved so much in just one week ⭐️

Another great session tonight

The main focus this week is handwriting practice and we even attempted to join our handwriting ☺️

Lots of interactive learning tonight using the white boards and our new favourite BFG game where we can make words independently !

We worked on independent and creative writing, while also focusing on using capital letters, full stops, and finger spaces correctly. Handwriting practice was a big part of the session too, especially recognising the difference between small and tall letters.

We also enjoyed playing a new word game, finished off some reading for the reading challenge, and ended the session with extra word practice—using rhymes to help master those tricky words! 😊
