Welcome to my page! My name is Emma and I provide English tuition from Key Stage 2 through to GCSE, as well as Essential/Functional Skills.

I have a Masters degree in English Literature and for the past 17 years have worked within the communications sector as a writer and copy editor.

Like many of you, during the pandemic I also homeschooled my children, and I don’t think I could hazard a guess at the number of tutoring hours I put in there (my subject is English after all, not maths!).

I offer online English tuition across the UK, or in-person tuition at my home in Wrexham. Whichever you choose, these are 1:1 sessions for all abilities where your child will be supported to improve their knowledge and understanding, and gain confidence.

Before we have a first session, I will speak to you and your child to establish what their needs are.

From there I will structure a series of sessions to support your child to fill in any skill gaps and improve their knowledge – whether this means the basics of spelling, punctuation or grammar; analysis of fiction, non-fiction and poetry; help with homework or exam revision.

Sessions cost £25 per hour (a session usually lasts one hour) and I am available evenings, weekends and during the school holidays.

I have a valid DBS certificate, which is available to view on request.
