TEEN ENTERPRISE JUST GOT VERY EXCITING… 🏀⚡️

This Monday we’re welcoming Worthing Thunder to Freedom to Thrive!

Our teens are getting the opportunity to meet people from behind one of Worthing’s best-known sports teams and discover what really goes on behind the basketball.

The training. The commitment. The teamwork. The careers. The business. The highs, the challenges and what it takes to turn something you love into something much bigger.

Because Teen Enterprise isn’t about asking young people, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
It’s about giving them opportunities to meet people, hear their stories, ask questions and discover possibilities they might never have considered.

🎪 Teen Enterprise – Life in the Circus with Kate

Next week, our Teen Enterprise group is getting a peek behind the curtain at a career that’s a little bit different… life in the circus! 🎪✨

Our own lovely Kate wright, who many of our children already know from Circus Skills at Freedom, will be joining the teens to talk about how she actually got into the circus, what life as a circus performer was really like, and where that journey has taken her since.

They’ll get the chance to ask all the things you’d probably want to know…
How do you even get a job in a circus?!
What is it like travelling and performing?
How much training goes into it?
What happens when things go wrong?
What skills do you need beyond being able to perform?
And what does life after performing look like?

Kate will be sharing the real story behind the career – the opportunities, challenges, experiences and unexpected turns along the way.

Because Teen Enterprise isn’t only about learning how to start a business.
It’s about showing our young people that there are so many different ways to build a working life, and that careers don’t always follow a straight or conventional path.
Sometimes the thing you love doing can take you somewhere you never expected. 💚

🌿 Teen Enterprise - Meet Cherie!

This coming week our Teen Enterprise group will be welcoming the lovely Cherie, a fully qualified, licensed and insured Advanced Beauty Practitioner. 💕

Cherie specialises in massage therapy and advanced skin treatments, with both areas qualified to the highest National Diploma level.

For her Teen Enterprise session, Cherie will be introducing the group to the world of massage and reflexology – sharing some of the knowledge and practical skills behind what she does, how she turned those skills into a career, and giving the teens an opportunity to get hands-on and have a go themselves. 🙌✨

One of the things we really want our young people to see through Teen Enterprise is just how many different careers, skills and pathways exist beyond the ones they might traditionally hear about.

Sometimes an interest or something you’re naturally good at can become a qualification, a skill, a job or even your own business. 💡

We’re so grateful to have local people giving up their time to share a little piece of their world with our teens – and we’re really looking forward to this one! 🥰

Tomorrow, our doors open again💚🌿

And I genuinely can’t quite believe how much has changed since we first started.

Tomorrow we’ll welcome back familiar faces, children who have been with us from the beginning, brand new families taking their first steps into home education, new tutors and new friendships waiting to happen.

There’ll be Literacy and Maths.
Art, STEM, Spanish and Creative Writing.
Drama, Circus Skills, Boxing, Acro and so much more.

But actually, the thing I’m most excited about isn’t what’s written on the timetable.

It’s seeing the children walk through those doors.

Seeing friends reunited.

Watching the nervous ones slowly realise they’re safe.

Seeing confidence grow.

Hearing the building full of chatter and laughter again.

Because Freedom to Thrive was never supposed to be just somewhere children come for lessons.

We’re building a community where children can learn, explore, make friends, discover what they’re capable of and most importantly, feel like they belong.

Tomorrow we begin another chapter.

Learning looks a little different around here… 🦎💚

Our Reptile Keep in Touch session was all about curiosity, confidence and getting VERY hands-on! 😂

From those who couldn’t wait to hold everything, to those who needed a little more time to watch from a distance first - everyone was able to experience it in their own way.

And that’s something that’s really important to us at Freedom to Thrive.

No pressure.
No expectation to be the same as everyone else.

Just opportunities to explore, learn, build confidence and maybe surprise yourself along the way🌿

Our Keep in Touch sessions this summer have been such a lovely way for friendships to continue, new children to meet the group and our community to grow ahead of September.

And now… we’re nearly ready for a brand new term.

Today a few of our teenage girls spent the afternoon creating beautiful floral arrangements at one of our ‘summer keep in touch’ sessions led by the lovely May (one of our talented home ed mums).

The girls all agreed she was just like Miss Honey from Matilda 🥹 I can’t think of a better description for her either.

🎭 Meet Caroline – Our Drama Tutor! 🌟

We’re delighted to introduce Caroline, who leads our drama sessions here at Freedom to Thrive.

Through Fabric Dreams Theatre, Caroline is passionate about nurturing children’s imagination, confidence and emotional resilience through drama. Her sessions are full of fun, engaging games and creative activities that help children express themselves, build friendships and develop essential life skills, all in a supportive, inclusive environment where every child can shine. 

Whether your child loves performing or is simply looking to grow in confidence, Caroline creates a welcoming space where children can explore, imagine and thrive at their own pace.

We’re so lucky to have Caroline as part of the Freedom to Thrive team and can’t wait to see our young performers flourish this September! 💚
