Today we made a raspberry & lemon cake using raspberries from our allotment.

The children loved weighing, pouring, cracking the eggs and mixing, with lots of counting, measuring, turn-taking and following instructions happening naturally along the way.

They decided pink icing was a must to match the raspberries, and had lots of fun decorating (and eating!) their finished cake!

First day back at Ducklings after a lovely 2 weeks off with my family 🥰 and we headed straight to one of our favourite places… the allotment!

The first thing Elliot wanted to do was pick an apple from our tree, he thinks they’re the best apples he’s ever tasted! 😂🍎

We spent the morning digging in the mud, doing some weeding and checking in on the horses in the neighbouring field across from our allotment. I love that they come say hi 👋🏻

Then we went into the growing house and couldn’t believe how much was ready to pick! 🤩 Lots of raspberries, green beans and tomatoes, so we all got stuck in harvesting them… with a few raspberries eaten along the way of course! 😋 We even picked some lovely plums from our plum tree too.

We finished off with a picnic lunch at the allotment. 🧺💚

Such a lovely first day back, fresh air, muddy hands, homegrown fruit and veg and lots of exploring. Exactly how we like our days learning through play 🥰

A lovely end to my working week! A trip to Africa Alive, we’re so lucky to have this on our doorstep! We took part in the stamp trail, got up close to the animals, had a train ride and so much more! 🥰

A walk in the woods on this very hot day! Keeping cool and having fun with our nature faces hairstyles 🥰 we enjoyed a lovely walk whilst looking for flowers and leaves for our hair, we had a lovely picnic and tried to balance on some tree trunks.

What a wonderful start to my working week 🥰 an allotment visit with our friends . We done lots of digging, got to see the horses in the field opposite us, snacked on freshly picked strawberries 🍓 did some caterpillar craft, had a picnic and then finished the day off with a trip to the park! A truly wholesome day 🥰

Ｗｅｄｎｅｓｄａｙ 🪩 means .beatz11 we always have so much fun at dance 🥰 It’s amazing how much children learn through something as simple as moving to music. Dance helps develop coordination, balance and confidence, while also encouraging creativity and self-expression.

Whether they’re following actions, making up their own moves or simply enjoying the rhythm, they’re learning and developing in so many ways, all while having fun! 🎶✨
