It can feel a bit daft talking to a tiny tot about emotions, but trust me, it really shows through as they grow and mature!

Emotional development is so easily overlooked……but at the risk of sounding dramatic, there’s not much use in being able to do algebra, create a digital presentation or write an essay for example, if you can’t manage, understand and cope with your emotions.

It’s never too early! 💖

P.S The book is linked in my story! Xx

LONG story short…….I ended up ‘running’ to the last night to meet my husband, watch the INCREDIBLE before leaving my husband in London, to run back home to Yorkshire!🥹😮‍💨🤣💃🎶😍

It was absolutely worth the 3 hours kip I ended up grabbing!

The talent on that stage was phenomenal, an absolute honour to watch and enjoy.

We got to meet a lovely couple who joined us for the concert and the brilliant even indulged me in a conversation about nature versus nurture!

A wonderful evening all round! 🥹💃🎶

P.S Shout out to my mum for holding the fort in my absence! THANK YOU SO MUCH! 🩷

I love these phonics resources that so very kindly sent my way! I’ll really look forward to introducing Elisabeth to them! 🥰

Thank you and for helping children to learn via play! 🩷💪

I can’t describe how it feels to finally be “cooking” for Elisabeth!

I KNOW that daily grind in the kitchen can be draining, figuring out what to feed everyone, sourcing the food, the cooking and then the cleaning of the kitchen, every day, on repeat…..it’s a lot! 😮‍💨

But it’s just another one of those things I crave our family.

The debris left in the wake of a toddler, the food chucked on the floor…..the tell tale signs of a happy, developing child, within a family home.

So, if you don’t need a soup maker (not an ad by the way, I purchased this myself, independently of anyone at ninja), I hope you can look at the meal prep a little differently today. 🥹

Though it may not feel it, preparing food for a healthy to child to eat (or cuck on the floor) is a gift xx

I know, before I press “share”, that I’ll lose followers because of this post. 😌

In the 6 years I’ve ran my Nanny Amies accounts, I have broached this topic in a number of ways, directions, tones and formats……I always get negativity in return. And I get it.

We all parent in a way that feels right for us, so if someone poses a conflicting view, unfollowing can be a comforting option.

As my intent has never once been to cause upset however, I do continue to post on this topic because;

A) It’s important.

B) Production companies and merchandising will convince you that parenting without screens isn’t possible.

C) I always stay true to myself whilst creating content and this is something I feel strongly about.

D) People have the absolute right to follow and unfollow exactly who THEY choose.

Ultimately, in a world that’s becoming increasingly modernised, babies and toddlers deserve people, parents, professionals and content creators to advocate for their basic needs and rights.

Whereas right now, I feel many are trying to convince you that the modern elements are the true need. 😔 xx

Elisabeth got to spend some time with two very special cuties today…….🥹

Talk about sweet!

She laid on the floor beside them and kept handing them toys, whilst saying, “Ta.”

We haven’t taught her to do this. We haven’t encouraged sharing (yet), we haven’t really spent much time around other children at all, so it was beautiful to see.

Just an innate desire to give, smile, enjoy and interact, alongside of only ever knowing a calm, positive and loving home environment. Nature versus nurture. Lovely.

SIDE NOTE: Unable to shake my professional background, I insist that those in Elisabeth’s life pronounce words accurately whilst speaking with her. E.G “Thank you” not “Ta!”, Bird, not Birdie, Car not Brum Brum. (The Speech and Language chapter in my book covers why).

However, it’s MUCH easier for babies and toddlers to say “Ta”, so it often happens naturally, even if they only hear, “Thank you.” 🥰🗣️
