Year 1 had the perfect end of year trip to West Midlands Safari Park. They loved seeing all of the amazing animals they have been learning about during our Kenya topic, bringing their classroom learning to life in such an exciting way. It felt like they went on a real life safari trip to Kenya!
The children were an absolute pleasure throughout the day- so sensible and well behaved. We are so proud of each and every one of them!
What a wonderful way to celebrate a fantastic year of learning! 🌞🐘🦁 🦒

Our amazing Year 2 pirate crews did a fantastic job this week performing their pirate play- Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs! They showed great confidence, spoke their lines clearly, sang and danced beautifully, and brought their pirate characters to life with lots of enthusiasm. We are so proud of all their hard work, teamwork, and dedication. Well done to every member of our fantastic pirate crew—you were all stars!

Yesterday Year 3 had a great trip up British Camp in Malvern. Fortunately the weather had cooled since last week and the hill breeze was a refreshing change. The children navigated their way to the top, looked out for flowers and trees, enjoyed the wow factor of the view, observed "bees pollinating", found granite on the path, saw the remains of an iron age hillfort, used a compass and a map, and saw a red kite! Quiet a lot squeezed in.

Our celebration of books was filled with smiles, stories, and plenty of fun! One of the highlights was our wonderful Booknic, where everyone enjoyed relaxing with a good book in the sunshine.
There was something for every reader to discover, from fascinating non-fiction and exciting graphic novels to inspiring sports books and so much more. It was brilliant to see everyone exploring new genres, sharing recommendations, and celebrating the joy of reading together.

This week we have been very lucky to have had musical performances from the children who have guitar and keyboard tuition in school. We are so proud of them for showing such confidence when performing during their assembly (where the audience included many family members) and for showing such commitment throughout the year. Well done to each of them! We were also treated to a very exciting electric guitar performance from Mr Gittens! We would like to thank Mr Gittens and Mrs Evans from Severn Arts for their dedication and support throughout the year and would like to wish Mrs Evans a very happy retirement!

Key Stage 2 choir had an amazing time yesterday at The Big Sing! The event, organised by Severn Arts, was held at Malvern Theatre and involved the children singing prepared songs with many other schools from across Worcestershire, led by professional singers and a live band. The children have been so committed leading up to the event with learning the songs and all their hard paid off! The enthusiasm and excitement was a pleasure to see and they were a credit to Chawson! Thank you to Severn Arts for organising the event- we loved it!

What a fantastic day we have had! Nick from Kidderminster Harriers led an exciting day of penalty shootouts and here are our brilliant finalists who scored the most goals in their year group. They were very brave and had a penalty shootout in front of the whole school and our school champion for 2026 is... Arthur C in 3MJ! Congratulations! Thank you to Kidderminster Harriers for another great penalty shootout competition. We raised £296 - thank you to you all for your support and taking part.
