1 lipca obchodzimy 109 urodziny F/O Franciszka Surmy. Franciszek Surma urodził się 1 lipca 1916 roku we wsi Głębocz na Ziemi Wodzisławskiej obecnie część Gołkowic. Miał dziewięcioro rodzeństwa.
W pobliskich Gołkowicach ukończył szkołę powszechną, a następnie uczył się w Państwowym Gimnazjum w Żorach.
