The glorious sunshine allowed for endless physical play outside on the quartergreen. We have also used the bee bot toy for programming a route around the committee room, this involved turntaking and listening to instructions in small groups. Trains have been enjoyed today allowing for imaginary and construction play, along with the wooden shaped puzzles which helped us to learn shape, size and colour. We will be finishing off with a story sack to help with communication and listening skills x

Children have enjoyed outside play on the courtyard in small groups with the balls, guttering, garage, kitchen, books and hoopla game for lots of physical play in the fresh air throughout the day. Indoors we have worked with an adult to play body parts lotto for turn taking and listening and speaking activities. There has been lots of block play for construction and counting. We have used wooden shaped puzzles for colour, size and shape identification. Mobilo was enjoyed for construction purposes. Stories based on emotions were also explored. Sand play with the diggers led to lots of construction opportunities too.

Today we have enjoyed the fire station and engines using imaginary and construction skills. The quartergreen gave lots of fun and challenges for moving in different ways, helping with listening skills. We have worked with our friends and an adult in small groups to follow instructions from the adult and also to explore feelings. We have also practised number work and clapping out syllables to words. We will be finishing with calming stories to further explore emotions and feelings x

Children have enjoyed being creative with sand and natural resources. We played on the quartergreen in the rain with bubbles, balls, tag, number hunt and one child started singing gingerbread man which prompted lots of running games with friends. Indoors we've worked with an adult to sort and discuss different images into likes and dislikes, which involved turn taking and language development. Due to a smaller group there have been lots of opportunities for listening to stories individually with an adult, which has been lovely. We are finishing with a story sack later on

We have enjoyed the sunshine outside on the quartergreen where a few children decided to create an obstacle course whilst others chased and counted the bubbles. The sun allowed for shadow play. Indoors natural resources especially leaves have been used to create faces, using scissors to cut the leaves. We even had a few monsters created so all were very unique and individual. Train track has been out but interestingly not many children played with it today. We have enjoyed Dear Zoo story sack in the committee room in small groups to practice turn taking, listening and speaking skills. We will be finishing off with a music session out on the courytard
Don't forget it is the open day at Great Witley Primary School tomorrow morning at 9.30 x

We have enjoyed the courtyard in small groups today with the balls and guttering, chalkboards for mark making, garage for imaginary play and hoopla for maths and physical play. Indoors children have worked with an adult to match numbered body parts to a dice and then build a body. This afternoon the committee room will be used for small group work and a story sack to encourage listening and attention and communication skills.

Children enjoyed a nature walk in the sunshine today. One spotted blackberries growing which prompted a discussion on apple and blackberry pie with lots of children talking about what they like to eat. Diggers were spotted and watched to see what they were doing on the building development and children compared the different sounds the vehicles made. Indoors children worked with an adult to explore different feelings and how we can express ourselves. We had the hairdressing dolls out and children were very creative with hair designs. This afternoon a small group explored what's in the bag and clapped out syllables. A group in the committee room listened and joined in with the hungry caterpillar story sack

Children have used picture frames to create self portraits using natural resources. We have also worked as a team to finish the skeleton floor puzzle, learning different body parts. Skittle play has been enjoyed whilst out on the quartergreen as well as beanbags being used as sausages for singing songs, practising sounds and counting numbers. This afternoon we will be working in smaller groups to clap out syllables to our names and rolling the ball to each other. Great for physical development, turn taking and learning our new friends' names

The quartergreen allowed for lots of fantastic physical play with bats, balls and hoops and the sensory bubbles. Children also played whats the time mr wolf with their friends to practise listening and number skills. Indoors oats and macaroni in the sensory trays has allowed for lots of construction, filling and pouring into/from containers. The pirate ships sailed around the hall today as children extended their play and introduced loose parts. This afternoon we will be splitting the group and using the committee room to share a story sack to encourage listening and speaking skills x

Children have enjoyed the pirate ships today for imaginary play with lots of wonderful language and turn taking. Outside on the quartergreen we enjoyed physical play with the bats and balls and sensory bubbles. Children also practised counting skills playing 'what's the time mr wolf' with their friends Inside we have used the bears for colour, sorting, size and counting activities as well as learning our shapes with the wooden puzzles .
