Receptions focus text this week is The Three Little Pigs, linking to their topic of Houses and Homes. They have been joined by Year 6, who are using this traditional tale as inspiration for some character descriptions in their writing lessons.

Together Reception and Year 6 have learnt the story, explored a range of exciting activities and developed their understanding of some challenging new vocabulary. They have built strong and sturdy brick houses in the construction area, created stick puppets to role play with in the rough, dry straw, and collected bumpy sticks to design houses with.

It has been wonderful to see some of our youngest and oldest children exploring and being imaginative together! 📚🐷🐺🏠

🍂 Sukkot & Harvest at Oasis Academy Warndon 🍂

Sukkot is a time to give thanks, appreciate what we have, and think about how we can support and care for others. 💚

As part of our learning, we’re collecting tinned food to support local people in need. Every donation, however small, is a simple way to show kindness, gratitude and generosity.

🥫 Bring a tin, wear your own clothes!
📅 Friday 2nd October
👕 Children who bring a donation are invited to come to school in their own clothes on the day.

Thank you to our wonderful school community for helping us make a difference together. 🌻

🐄🚜 Year 2 had a fantastic day at Bennetts Farms! They watched cows being milked, experienced life on a working farm (including the smell! 🤭), and brought their Science learning to life by learning about living things, gestation, and offspring. A memorable day full of curiosity and hands-on learning! 🌾✨ A huge thank you to the farm for having us.

What a fantastic European Languages Day from start to finish! KS1 had a wonderful time making delicious Italian pizzas and showing off their moves with some Spanish flamenco dancing, while KS2 battled it out in the Olympics and impressed with their amazing efforts in the parade. A huge well done to everyone for their enthusiasm and willingness to embrace new languages and cultures. Special congratulations to 3D, who were crowned the LKS2 winners, and to 6JC, who were our overall champions! 🏆👏 European Commission

They asked, we delivered! The brand new monkey bars opened today and were extremely popular. After being asked for through pupil voice last year, we are so happy to see the vision become a reality and the joy on children’s faces as they hang, swing and spin!
