National silver for Caitlin with her Woodford Green AC relay team, as they broke a 20-year-old club record in the 4x400m. 🏃‍♀️

The previous club record was held by a quartet including our very own Prep teacher, Tara Bird (and Old Bancroftian!)

Well done to Caitlin and the team on this fantastic achievement. 👏

Sport, music, creative activities and plenty more… there are definitely lots of clubs on offer for our Thirds to sign up for at the annual Activities Fair!

They can even take the mic at the newest addition to the mix this year: Karaoke Club! 🎤

For the second year running, we’ve made the final for London Independent School of the Year! 🎉

We are incredibly lucky to have London on our doorstep, with access to its culture, institutions, communities and our wider Bancroft’s network.

It’s important to us that our pupils both contribute to and are inspired by life beyond the School gates through partnerships, service and excursions.

We’ll find out the winner in October, so keep your fingers crossed for us!🤞

For now, being named alongside some of London’s leading independent schools is something we’ll be celebrating, regardless of the outcome.👏

Essex Cup Champions! 🏆

What a result for our boys’ cricket team!

It took two attempts to get finals day played, with extreme heat postponing the original date and overnight rain causing more disruption when the teams finally returned.

A superb 78 from Jun-Le helped the team post 148 in the final before an excellent bowling performance sealed the trophy.

This also means they have now qualified for the 2027 National Cup. 👏

What a season it has been, well done to you all!

While school may be a little quieter over the summer, there’s been plenty going on behind the scenes to get us ship shape for the new academic year. 🛠️

Renovating our sports fields, giving the gardens a glow up, decorating classrooms and tackling some bigger developments too (including a new pond!), there is a lot that goes into keeping the school running.💙

So this is where we say a huge THANK YOU to our brilliant Grounds and Maintenance teams. 👏

We nabbed some time with the team to find out a little more about the people behind the projects and the work that goes on behind the scenes.

A little to Peru this summer. 🇵🇪

Two groups of pupils packed a lot in (to say the least!): Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain, Lake Titicaca, Cusco and plenty more besides.

They also spent time volunteering with Aldea Yanapay, visited the floating islands of Uros and stayed with local families on Amantaní. 🌄

And, naturally, there was plenty of Peruvian food along the way.

Not a bad way to spend their holidays right?

How has it already been a week since our Thirds started at Bancroft’s? 🙂‍↔️

On their first day, they had the School all to themselves.

A chance to settle in, meet their tutors and new classmates, and find their way around with a treasure hunt led by our prefects.

There were icebreakers, games on the field and, of course, the important business of getting to grips with their new iPads.

They have certainly been busy, but what a brilliant start to life at Bancroft’s. 💙

We’ve made 2026 winners list! 🏆

👏 Bancroft’s has been named Best SEND School in The Week Independent Schools Guide’s Best of the Best Senior Schools Awards 2026. 👏

We are enormously proud of this one.

Our Learning Support team leads this work, but supporting pupils with SEND involves staff across the whole School.

Antonia Fryer-Green, Director of Learning Strategy and SENCo, said:
“It means a huge amount to receive this award. It is a direct result of the hard work of staff across the School, the support of our families and the attitude of our pupils. The aim is always to create an inclusive and nurturing environment every single day, and this external recognition is a great endorsement of this.”

Alex Frazer, Head of Bancroft’s added:
“We are fortunate to have such a thoughtful, well-informed Learning Support Team here at Bancroft’s who have outstanding ambitions for the pupils they work with and give them exceptionally effective care and guidance. I couldn’t be prouder of them.”

And it's a joy to see this work recognised again, after we were also named a finalist in the Education Choices Awards 2026 earlier this year.

Thank you to the judges . What a way to start the new academic year. 💙

What better way to round off the first week back than hearing from our new Heads of House?

It’s been great to see the corridors busy again, and we look forward to seeing our pupils getting well and truly stuck in with House events! 💙
