Heatwave Update

Due to the high temperatures, we are taking extra steps to keep children (and staff) safe and comfortable.

Children will have access to water throughout the day, fans are being used in classrooms, and playtimes/lunchtimes have been shortened and adapted. Children spend more time in the cooler dining hall, and teachers will use shaded outdoor areas and cooler indoor spaces where appropriate.
Our Nursery provision for our 2-4 year olds has air conditioning.

Year 4 and Year 6 are swimming this afternoon in a nice cool pool!!

Your child's safety is our priority. Thank you for your support with water bottles, sunhats and sunscreen.

Hot Weather Arrangements – Next Week Only ☀️

With the very warm weather forecast for next week, we are making a few temporary adjustments to help everyone stay comfortable.

Children

* Children may wear white polo T-shirts, school shorts or summer dresses without a tie.
* school shoes are still encouraged as normal.
* Please do not send children in flip-flops, Crocs or sliders, as these are not suitable for school.

Staff

* Staff may wear smart, loose-fitting clothing suitable for the weather.
* Men may wear tailored shorts and do not need to wear a tie.

Sun Safety

* Please apply sunscreen before school and ensure your child brings a named water bottle with plenty of water.
* Children will have access to water throughout the day, and we will continue to make daily decisions about breaktimes, outdoor learning and PE lessons to keep everyone safe.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

🎨✨ Our talented Year 5 children have had a fantastic opportunity to work alongside local artist Barbara to create some truly amazing artwork in celebration of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month.

The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about the rich cultures, traditions and heritage of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities, expressing their understanding through their beautiful and creative artwork.

A huge thank you to Barbara for sharing her expertise and inspiring our pupils. We are incredibly proud of the creativity, respect and enthusiasm our Year 5 children have shown throughout this special project. 🌟

⚽️❤️ Father’s Day at Wolvey! ❤️⚽️

This afternoon, we welcomed over 120 fathers, grandfathers, uncles and other male relatives into school to enjoy some special time with their children.

Families took part in our World Cup football quiz, colouring activities and a fun-filled afternoon together. It was wonderful to see so many smiles, hear so much laughter and celebrate the strong relationships that make our school community so special.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. We are incredibly proud of our supportive and caring community.

Our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at our local bowls club alongside Mrs Deacon as part of their annual visit.

The children had an amazing time learning the skills of lawn bowls from members of our wonderful local bowling community. They showed great enthusiasm, teamwork and determination, and it was lovely to see them trying something new.

A huge thank you to everyone at the bowls club for giving up their time to share their expertise and make the afternoon so enjoyable. We really appreciate your continued support of our school and community! 🎳💙

📢 Reception September 2026 Welcome Meeting Reminder

A friendly reminder that our Reception 2026 Welcome Meeting takes place tonight from 5:30pm–6:30pm.

This is a great opportunity to meet your child's new teachers and members of the senior leadership team, visit the Reception classroom, and ask any questions you may have ahead of your child starting school with us.

The meeting is packed with useful information to help ensure a smooth and positive transition into school, and we strongly encourage all families to attend.

We look forward to welcoming you later today!
