We’re loving MC Grammar’s videos on YouTube this week, they’re short, catchy videos and are helping everyone to remember the tricky parts of SPaG. 📽

I highly recommend the Maths Show, tune in tonight 5:30 - 6:30 to listen to the brilliant Mr Numbervator.
It’s SATs tips tonight, perfect timing ready for next week. My daughter can’t wait after last week’s show.

25/04/2022

Mr Numbervator is absolutely brilliant, this will definitely be worth tuning in for and this week it’s SATs prep.

Good evening, High Fliers is back this week after our lovely summer break and for this week at least, it’s outdoor learning in the sunshine ☀️.

Photos from Dyslexia Ideas's post 09/04/2021

I’ve always said that children don’t fit into little categories as they are all so different. A pupil who struggles with number and is artistic can often be greater depth in geometry but isn’t always given the opportunity to show it. I take every new topic as a new starting block and guide children to succeed and believe in themselves.

09/04/2021

😂 That’s brilliant

Anyone notice how the joke moves from expected standard to working at greater depth? 😅😅😅

Something to brighten up our snowy spring days.

Money skills in a digital age | Oxford Owl 11/03/2021

There are some really good ideas on here. Thinking about it, do our children know what they could buy with £1? I think we'd be surprised by the responses.
Ask them when they get back from school, I'd love to read what they've got to say. I shall ask my two and post what they've said (I'm probably going to regret saying that!)

Money skills in a digital age | Oxford Owl How to develop an understanding of money and healthy money habits in our children when there are fewer opportunities for them to see the real and physical exchange of cash.

This is so true ❤️

So true and whilst we teach them all of these values, be kind to our educators too, the world of teaching is a very challenging place right now. ❤️

I love this ❤️
A friend commented on Sunday that I post arty things yet I don’t teach Art anymore. No I don’t but I still like it. It was always a job satisfaction moment to see children’s faces light up when they saw the art stations set up in the classroom.

17/02/2021

This is something for us all to bear in mind especially in current climate.
Remember that kindness counts ❤️

Celebrate the progress of all of the small steps you have been taking.
Remember to acknowledge all of the overcoming you have been doing in very challenging times.
It’s great to acknowledge all of this as a process for our children too, it helps them to feel seen, felt and validated for all they have been trying to manage.

16 Hands-On Heart and Circulatory System Activities For Kids 05/02/2021

These are fantastic creative ideas to help with learning the circulatory system. I love the Play-Doh one, children could even make their own Play-Doh following the recipe to get some instructions work in too. ❤️

I was asked earlier in the week if could recommend a free game to help with improper fractions.
This one from Education.com is called Gem Mining and does exactly that. It also has Pizza Party which covers fractions. There are several maths games in the games tab that will help make maths learning fun.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations.
Enjoy playing ❤️

This is a really interesting read ❤️

Try reading the passage below. Is it difficult for you to understand? Believe it or not, this is what it looks like when a child reads with 91% accuracy. That might seem high, but is it enough to comprehend?

As requested, here's a direct link to my blog, "Reading Comprehension Problem? Maybe Not."
