In Toddlers 2 we have been learning about our book of the month The Colour Monster. We have discussing with toddlers in how we regulate our emotions and encouraging children with makaton signs. Toddlers 2 have been engaging with little science experiments such as mini lava lamps based around each emotions like angry, calm, happy and sad. Encouraging facial expressions along the way

We have been getting into the Autumn spirit here in Preschool. We have been exploring leaves by engaging in Grace Co's leaf printing activity, we made pinecone hedgehogs with Chloe and have explore cinnamon scented Autumn play dough with Grace Ch. We have had so much fun!

Over the past few weeks, Toddler's 1 have been busy exploring, mixing, measuring and creating lots of different foods! They've enjoyed making lots of delicious and healthy treats, including healthy pizzas, blueberry muffins, flapjacks, cookies and oat bars. 🍕🫐🥣

Our cooking experiences are about so much more than the finished product. They give children opportunities to develop their independence, confidence, communication and language, while making choices, exploring new tastes and textures, and learning to work together.

We love seeing the pride on their faces when they can say, “I made that!”

We have been getting to know all of our new Preschool children by learning all about each other and our families. The children used their imagination to create their families with the loose parts and had so much fun.
We also talked about what we all looked like and displayed the quotes on our "What makes me a me?" display, based on our new book of the month.

Preschool have developed wonderful skills at the end of the year, especially their fine and gross motor skills. The children can now confidently use the scissors with control and with concentration. With the help of PC Jack Daws, we have been learning about keeping safe and how to use equipment safely.

In Babies 2 we are reading 'were going on a bear hunt'. This week we have explored the 'stumble trip' section of the book. The children had so much fun. Exloring the natural resources provided in the tuff tray: the crunchy leaves, colourful flowers, bark etc... We also used these resources to create a nature picture. The children spread the glue and decorated there paper independently, we encouraged language by saying words such as 'crunch' 'leaf' 'flower' and we enjoyed acting out the story- chanting 'stumble trip'.
On Monday we made chocolate mud mouse using avocados and cocoa powder. The children loved getting involved in this cooking activity! They helped to mix, blend and taste the food! Well done Babies 2!

Preschool have been exploring flowers this week. We have been experimenting with mixing the flower petals with play dough and water to see what happens. We pretended to make petal perfume and we made our own flowers. We had lots of fun.
