This poor boy should be approaching his 4th birthday not passed away due to unsanitary conditions. There maybe an increase in such cases with the energy crisis. RIP Awaab 🕯

Two-year-old boy died as a result of mould-infested flat 'unfit for human habitation' Awaab Ishak died shortly after his second birthday in December 2020. His home on an estate in Rochdale was exposed to "extensive" mould for "some considerable time", a mould and fungus expert told his inquest.

Please check your email and the university website to check of your class is still happening tomorrow. There are a number of sessions not happening tomorrow due to the weather! Levels 4 and 5 are effected.


4SC002 will be taught tomorrow in one room only as we expect low numbers - MC331. Marion Sheffield will be there at 2pm. If no one arrives Marion will go to her office at 2:30pm to speak to any individual students who go to see her.

At the current time the campus will be open but please check before travelling that this is still the case and if it is not safe to travel or you need to Care for children - please stay at home.


Heavy snow is forecast. If you see someone sleeping rough anywhere please call the rough sleeper team on 07483 981 912 (note: this is a midlands team but there are national teams you can google). If we do get heavy snow it is important that people aren't stuck outside in the cold. Please copy and paste.
