We are Storyy Group

We work with local authorities, schools, teachers, parents and social-care institutes to engage young people in learning and put them on the path for an incredible future. By tapping into children’s interests, we’re able to better connect with them and engage them for longer – giving them the best possible chance of excelling. We provide safe places on-site, offsite and residentially for young people in a variety of areas including:

- Offsite & onsite alternative provision
- High quality residential and bespoke care packages
- Transitions from registered care services onto semi independent and through to adulthood
- In school mentors, intervention programmes & workshops
- Re-engage children in learning & supporting transition into school
- Pre and post 16 NEET programmes

Young people at our Wiltshire site have been getting hands on with woodwork projects 🪚

Woodwork is a brilliant way for young people to learn practical skills while seeing their ideas turn into something real. From planning and measuring to shaping and building, every stage encourages patience, focus and problem solving, and there’s a real sense of pride that comes from making something with your own hands.

It’s also a great opportunity to build confidence. Working on a project from start to finish shows young people what they’re capable of, and learning to take their time, ask for help and keep going when something doesn’t go to plan are skills that stretch far beyond the workshop.

Throughout, our mentors are on hand to guide and encourage, making sure every young person feels supported to have a go and enjoy the process 💙

On Wednesday 14th October, we’ll be opening the doors to our Milton Keynes Alternative Provision for schools, commissioners and professionals to come along and see what Storyy Education is all about.
Drop in anytime between 10am and 4pm to meet our team, have a look around the site and explore our eight acres of woodland and open space.

You’ll also have the chance to find out more about how we support children and young people aged 5–16 with SEMH and behavioural needs through nature-based, therapeutic and holistic learning.

Our September newsletter is out now! 📖

It has been a month of fresh starts, with young people building tables in Trades, boxing at Birch Hill and making space bread and chocolate croissants at Storyybrook.

In our homes, we have been celebrating new jobs, homemade pizzas and a surprise visit from Madi, who popped in to show us her new car after passing her driving test! 🚗

Our Milton Keynes open day is also coming up on Wednesday 14 October, from 10am to 4pm.

At our Finchamstead site, our PSHE topic focused on health and fitness 💪

Young people took part in discussions around fitness routines and ideas for eating healthily, before creating their own circuits and trying out a range of fitness activities.

Some were a little self conscious about joining in at first, but they all got stuck in, enjoyed themselves and supported one another to feel confident along the way. It was also a great chance to burn off some energy and work on gross motor skills.

Group activities like this help build self confidence and relationships, while showing young people how a healthy lifestyle can support their mental wellbeing 💙

For some children and young people, the traditional school environment doesn’t always provide the support or flexibility they need to feel comfortable, confident and able to engage with learning.

At Storyy Education, our Alternative Provisions offer a different approach, with personalised, relationship-led support shaped around each young person’s individual needs, interests and goals.

That might mean rebuilding confidence, developing new skills, finding ways to enjoy learning again or working towards their next step in education.

If you think Alternative Provision could be right for your child, speak to their school about the support available and whether a referral to Storyy Education could be appropriate.

Last week at Storyybrook, our topic focus was the Human Body, and it was packed with hands on learning and plenty of curiosity 🧠

We started with teeth, where young people identified the different types and what each one is for, before carrying out an experiment to see how different drinks affect our teeth.

Next up was the skeleton. Young people completed a cut and stick sheet to learn the names and locations of the bones in the body, then made their own skeletons using cotton buds.

For organs, a word search helped young people find the names of different organs, before they got creative and made their own out of PlayDoh. We then explored the digestive system, placing each part onto a body outline to learn how the process works, followed by an experiment to help visualise it.

The senses brought plenty of fun and teamwork. Young people guessed mystery ingredients by smell, tried to draw an object while blindfolded to test their sight, and joined in a group game of guess the sound.

A brilliant mix of science, creativity and laughter 💙

A positive day supporting one of our young people as he prepares to move into his own accommodation 🏡

After feeling a little overwhelmed about the move, some time away from the house was just what was needed. We headed to Lightwater Country Park for a walk through the woods to Curley Hill viewpoint, with plenty of fresh air, sunshine and time to talk along the way.

Of course, there was a moment of excitement on the zipline too! One of our Senior Support Workers looked away for a second, turned back around and somehow our young person was on the floor. Thankfully he was absolutely fine, in great spirits and laughing 😂

More boxing sessions have been taking place with young people at our Birch Hill secondary site 🥊

Boxing continues to be a brilliant outlet for young people, giving them a positive and structured way to channel their energy while building fitness, focus and discipline along the way. Session by session, it's fantastic to see their confidence grow, both in the ring and in themselves.

Beyond the physical benefits, boxing also teaches resilience, self control and the value of hard work, skills that carry far beyond the ring and into everyday life. It's a real privilege to watch young people push themselves, support one another and take genuine pride in their progress 💙

We’re really proud to share some lovely feedback following a recent monitoring visit from Bracknell Forest Council! 🏡💙

Our Supported Accommodation (16+) was recognised as a welcoming, well-maintained and supportive environment where young people are encouraged to build their independence and work towards positive outcomes.

The visit highlighted the commitment of our team, the personalised support young people receive and the different opportunities they have to share their views and help shape life within the home.

It was also great to see our new system for recording young people’s progress recognised for being clear, accessible and easy to navigate.

Of course, some of our favourite feedback came from the Young Expert, who rated the service highly across all areas and shared what they liked most:

“I liked the staffing, the rooms, decorations and the guinea pigs.” 🐹

We’re glad the guinea pigs got a mention! 😄

A huge well done to our Storyy Homes team for everything they do to make our Supported
Accommodation somewhere young people can feel comfortable, supported and confident about what comes next.
