We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for the Talk Education Awards for Innovation in Education 2026, in the Entrepreneurship & Business category!

The award recognises how schools are preparing pupils for jobs that don’t currently exist and coaching and empowering the leaders of tomorrow – something that sits at the heart of our commitment to ensuring every Holme Grange pupil is Future Ready.

From KidsMBA Young Business Studies and enterprise challenges to real-world problem solving, financial decision-making and pupil-led innovation, we encourage our pupils to be curious, creative and resilient – giving them the confidence to develop ideas, embrace opportunities and turn their thinking into action.

We cannot predict the jobs our pupils will do in twenty years’ time, but we can ensure they have the curiosity to explore them, the confidence to create them and the character to lead them.

Join us for the first Climate Conversation at Holme Grange

We’re delighted to invite our families, friends and wider community to the Caudwell Theatre at Holme Grange School on Tuesday 15 September for the first event in our new Climate Conversations series.

🎬 The People’s Emergency Briefing
📅 Tuesday 15 September 2026
🕖 Doors open 6.45pm | Screening 7.00pm
🎟️ FREE – open to everyone aged 16+

This powerful new film explores the realities of the climate and nature crisis, while inspiring meaningful action and hope for a greener future.

The film features contributions from Chris Packham, Jennifer Saunders, leading scientists and national leaders.

Following the screening, we’ll be joined in person by Professor Christopher Merchant, climate scientist at the University of Reading, for a live Q&A and the opportunity to continue the conversation.

Sustainability sits at the heart of so much of what we do at Holme Grange. Our new Climate Conversations at the Caudwell Theatre series takes these conversations beyond the classroom, bringing our wider community together to learn, question, discuss and consider the positive action we can all take.

Everyone is welcome – please share with friends, family and your wider community.

There has been a real buzz around Holme Grange over the past two days as our staff have come back together for INSET ahead of welcoming our pupils for the new academic year.

Investing in our staff and continuing to learn from the latest thinking, research and best practice is an important part of our commitment to providing the very best education and care for every pupil.

A positive start to the new academic year

As part of our INSET programme, we were delighted to welcome two keynote speakers.

Edward Way from Cognitive Coaching led a fascinating session on executive functioning, helping staff deepen their understanding of how these essential skills affect the way pupils learn, organise themselves, manage attention, regulate emotions and control impulses. The training provided practical strategies to support all pupils, including those with ADHD, and to further develop calm and inclusive learning environments in which every pupil can thrive.

We also welcomed Jessica Bondy, Founder and CEO of the charity Words Matter, to introduce our new partnership with the charity and explore the powerful role that language plays in children’s wellbeing, development and relationships.

This partnership forms part of our continued commitment to creating a positive, supportive and respectful school culture. Our work with Words Matter will continue throughout the year with staff training, parent talks and, most importantly, pupil voice sessions, ensuring our pupils are at the heart of the conversation.

Two busy and thought-provoking days, full of conversation, learning and plenty of excitement for the year ahead.

Now we can’t wait to welcome our pupils back!

Reception, Year 3 and Year 7 return on Thursday 3 September, with the rest of the school joining us on Friday 4 September. We’re looking forward to having everyone back at Holme Grange and to the start of another exciting year together.

Our Baby Room is officially open!

Today was a very special day at Little Grange Nursery as we officially opened the doors to our brand-new Baby Room, Owls, welcoming babies from 9 months old.

Our wonderful team have been busy getting everything ready and couldn’t wait to welcome our youngest children and their families this morning.

It marks an exciting new chapter for Little Grange and means that a child’s Holme Grange journey can now begin from just 9 months old.

We’ll be sharing more photos throughout the week as the children settle in, explore their new surroundings and begin their adventures at Little Grange.
