📢 UPDATE 👩‍💻

My social medias have been a little quiet this Summer but lots has been going on behind the scenes, getting ready for a new school year approaching and expanding my services to make my Coaching as inclusive and neuro-affirmative as possible. 🫶🏻

👩‍💻 So what have I been up to?

- I had a dedicated Coaching Room built in my garden, a quiet and cosy space ready to welcome more young people 🎨
- I completed my training with the amazing Ellie Finch from Playmode Academy to integrate Minecraft into my ADHD Coaching 🎮
- I also completed training for Digital Sandtray based Coaching
- I am super excited to have started FREE online social groups for Teens and Young people every Wednesday, we need more participants, so please get in touch!!! 🙋🏻‍♀️
- I have extended my Coaching to children age 6+ 👧🏼
- I am ready to start going into schools to support teachers, Senco and parents implementing the right approach to effectively support neurodivergent children. Feel free to pass my details to your school! 🏫
- With the help of my girls I have set up a Little Free Library to share our passion for reading 📚
- I am going to complete my training as a Sensory Play practitioner very soon 🫟

Yes, it’s been a busy and very productive summer and I loved everything I have achieved and put in place, I am so so excited to support more families!!

As an ADHD Coach, I don’t just limit my sessions to the main topics - motivation, organisation, emotional regulation, impulsivity, RSD, strengths and challenges - I cover every aspect of life.

Because ADHD impacts life as a whole.

I love when parents give me specific things to work on and I can tailor my sessions 100% to the young person’s needs and wishes.

This week we made smoothies and flapjacks.

Cooking is fun, is sensory, is rewarding and can start some very valuable conversations. 🥭

I never expect children or young people to just sit and talk - we play, we do art & crafts, we cook, and the best conversations just happen along the way 🤗

👏🏻 Praise the Effort, not the Outcome!

One thing we often forget when supporting children with ADHD is that the finished result doesn’t always tell us how much effort it took to get there.

A piece of homework that looks “easy” to an adult may have taken an enormous amount of energy, concentration, frustration and persistence for an ADHD child.

And if the praise only comes when the work is finished or the grade is good, a child can start to believe:

“I’m only successful when I get the right result.”

Over time, that can contribute to perfectionism, fear of getting things wrong, avoiding tasks and becoming overwhelmed before even starting.

💡 So try noticing the process, not just the end result.

Instead of only saying:
👉 “That’s brilliant!”

Try noticing what happened along the way:

✨ “I noticed you kept going when that got difficult.”

✨ “You found a different way when your first idea didn’t work.”

✨ “You put a lot of thought into that.”

✨ “I’m really proud of your hard work.”

✨ “You didn’t give up when it felt hard.”

This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate achievements. We absolutely should!

It means making sure children learn that their worth isn’t dependent on perfect results.

For many ADHD children, the journey deserves just as much recognition as the destination. 💛

🌙 Could CalmCarry help with sleep?

If your ADHD brain struggles to switch off at bedtime, you’re definitely not alone!

Many of my clients have tried CalmCarry and love how simple it is. It’s designed to provide gentle sensory input, which can help your nervous system feel calmer and give your busy brain something soothing to focus on.

For some people, that can make the transition from “my brain is still going 100mph” to “I’m ready to rest” a little easier. 😴

It’s not a magic sleep cure, but for an ADHD brain that benefits from sensory regulation, it can be a lovely addition to a calming bedtime routine. 💜
