Across the week, students will dive into the world of feel-good jukebox musicals, learning energetic routines inspired by hit shows such as Mamma Mia, We Will Rock You and & Juliet. Expect big songs, bold choreography and plenty of chances to shine!⁠

Alongside this, students will take part in core musical theatre skills classes, building confidence, technique and performance skills in a fun, supportive and high-energy environment. But that’s not all… each day will be packed with exciting, creative workshops designed to give students a taste of life in the performing arts industry. From performance challenges to behind-the-scenes creativity, there’ll be surprises around every corner, keeping things fresh, inspiring and fun.⁠

Italia Conti’s MA/MFA in Teaching and Coaching Physical Performance is a unique postgraduate programme designed for experienced performers and movement specialists looking to develop careers as teachers and coaches in actor training and the wider creative industries.⁠
⁠
This innovative course offers a rare opportunity to explore physical performance through an experiential and embodied approach, combining theory with real-world practice. Students engage with the distinct but interconnected roles of teaching—supporting the actor’s development in studio and rehearsal—and coaching, which prepares performers for the specific physical demands of professional work across film, television, theatre, and digital media.⁠

At the heart of this programme is Italia Conti’s uniquely interdisciplinary training model, where Dance, Musical Theatre, and Acting are integrated into a holistic curriculum. Students benefit from an environment where physical performance is not an add-on, but a vital and expressive part of an actor’s craft.⁠

Italia Conti’s new MFA Teaching and Coaching: The Speaking Voice is either a one-year full-time or two-year part-time course leading to a qualification that will equip each student to teach voice skills classes and production support (theatre, screen, audio) to performance art students and coach performance in a conservatoire and industry setting.⁠
⁠
The course distinguishes between the roles of voice teaching and coaching; teaching focused on providing a journey of vocal development, and coaching as guiding an actor through vocal challenges specific to medium/script needs or other voice users through vocal demands inherent in their profession.⁠
⁠
​The course is designed to develop creative and innovative voice teachers and coaches (who already have an understanding of acting and performance through their own training or professional experience) to be able to teach voice effectively in actor training settings. Further graduates of the MFA will be able to coach to a professional standard for theatre, film, TV and Audio.⁠

Lights, camera… perform! Italia Conti’s – Movie Musicals Week invites students to step into the magical world of musical films and bring iconic moments from the big screen to life.⁠

Throughout the week, students will explore songs, choreography and performance inspired by much-loved movie musicals such as Wicked, Mary Poppins and La La Land, focusing on storytelling, character and performance style – just like they would for screen.⁠
⁠
This week places a strong emphasis on performance for camera and stage, with core musical theatre skills classes woven throughout to help students develop versatility, confidence and expressive performance skills. Students will also take part in a range of creative, hands-on workshops designed to explore different sides of the industry and encourage imagination, collaboration and individuality. With something new happening every day, this week offers a fresh and exciting experience.⁠

The week will finish with a friendly end-of-week sharing for friends and family, giving students the chance to showcase their work and celebrate everything they’ve achieved together.⁠
