Oh, what a busy and exciting few days we've had at Winterbourne Valley! 🌟

The children had a fantastic visit from Millie and Erin, two paramedics, who gave them a tour of the ambulance, showed them some of the equipment they use, and taught them some valuable new skills. A huge thank you to both of you for such an engaging and educational experience! 🚑💙

We'd also like to say a massive thank you to the amazing Ben from Weymouth Bouncy Castles for setting up the incredible jungle fun run obstacle course. The children had an absolute blast! 🦁🌴

And finally, thank you to Mad Mitch Whippy for bringing along the ice cream van and treating everyone to a delicious ice cream – the perfect way to round off the fun! 🍦😊

A very emotional morning at our Year 4 Leavers' Service as we said goodbye to our amazing Year 4 pupils. 💙

Listening to them share their favourite Winterbourne memories, along with their hopes and dreams for the future, was truly special. They have grown so much during their time with us, and it has been a privilege to be part of their journey.

Class of 2026, you have been absolutely awesome! We are incredibly proud of every single one of you and can't wait to see all that you achieve in the years ahead.

With last Thursday's weather forecast to be nothing less than ☀️🔥Scorchio☀️🔥, the decision was made to switch Winterbourne Valley's annual Sports Day to the morning, instead of the afternoon.

And the children rose magnificently to the occasion, showing off their sporting prowess to a huge crowd of very proud parents and carers.

With running, throwing, hurdles, and cross-country events spanning all age groups, the children of Winterbourne Valley gave it their all, and impressed everyone with their energy, talent and sportsmanship. A huge thank you, and well done to all of them - you all more than deserved your ice lollies! 🍦

Huge thanks also to the PTA, who worked extremely hard erecting shady gazebos, shifting chairs, and providing much-needed refreshments. And also to all the staff who organised such a smooth-running event, and ensured that everyone was back inside in the shade to cool down before lunchtime.

Last night was the final performance of our amazing whole-school production of 'You Are Special' Huge congratulations to all of our children for their incredible performance!

Our very first whole-school end-of-year production was a tremendous success and it was wonderful to see every child, from Preschool through to Year 4, take to the stage with such confidence, enthusiasm and joy. Every single one of them was an absolute star and we could not be prouder of what they achieved.

Thank you also to our staff for all of their hard work behind the scenes - in particular, the brilliant Mrs Joslin - and to our families and PTA for your help and encouragement.

Beech Class stepped back in time over the past two weeks as they explored what school life was like in the past, even interviewing their own parents and grandparents about their school days.

On Friday, they were delighted to welcome a very special visitor – George and Bertie’s dad. As a former pupil of our school, whose own father and grandfather also attended, he represents an incredible three generations of the House family here!

He shared a vintage school photograph with the children, who thoroughly enjoyed trying to spot him among the pupils. The class was fascinated to learn that the Silver Birch hut was once a swimming pool, and that football was once banned because too many balls ended up in the neighbouring policeman’s garden!

A huge thank you to all the parents and grandparents who have helped bring our school’s history to life for the children. Your stories and memories have made this learning experience truly special.

🌿🌿 It's not just our Big Eco Day Bake Sale after school today! We are also selling some of the wonderful, fresh garden produce that our lunchtime gardening club have been busy growing in the school garden! 🌿🌿

We have fresh bags of salad lettuce and delicious mini potatoes for sale, so bring some spare change and skip the supermarket! 🥕🍓🥑🍎🍉🥔🌿🌱

Fabulous assembly this morning with Charlie from the iRock band🎸🥁🎹🎤

The children had the opportunity to try playing the drums, keyboard, guitar and even have a go at singing. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and confidence as they explored different instruments and performed in front of their peers.

Who knows? We may have some future rock stars here at Winterbourne Valley! ⭐🎶
