2041 Schools

2041 Schools We’re inviting pupils, teachers, and whole schools around the world to join our special mission - to become Champions of Antarctica and become a 2041 School.

Launching in September 2022. We’re inviting pupils, teachers, and whole schools to join our special mission - to become Champions of Antarctica and a 2041 School! In 2041 the Antarctic Treaty expires, and the future of the last great wilderness on earth will be decided. Children will be young adults by then - the decision-makers of the future. Help children (4-11) learn about Antarctica, its role

as a natural reserve for science and peace and what we can all do to protect it. Launching in September 2022 teachers and schools will have access to eight FREE short films, teacher notes, lesson plans, reading materials, maps and worksheets. Resources have been developed by Oddizzi (www.oddizzi.com) and the 2041 Foundation.

Look at the displays Year 3 and 4 “Champions of Antarctica” club made for Penguin Day!

Penguin Day aims to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the continent and the significance of the year 2041, when key environmental agreements are due to be reviewed.

Children arrived in penguin-themed costumes and took part in a range of fun and creative activities, including crafting, singing, and a penguin hunt, all while learning about the urgent need to protect Antarctica’s fragile ecosystem.

Our founder, Jenny, loved taking part in Rookwood School’s second Penguin Day after the success of last year!
