Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mums and mother figures who support our students every step of the way.

Mother’s Day always shows the lovely moments: the hugs, the cards, the breakfast in bed.

But motherhood is also the unseen things.

What a year 2025 has been! ✨

It’s been a year of 'big' moments: finishing my business course at Portsmouth Uni Business School, launching our platform, and expanding our Tutors On Set projects. The business is growing beautifully and the team has grown in more ways than one, including new expertise behind the scenes helping me lead and grow our mission.

Beyond the logistics, my heart is with our students. We’ve had the privilege of supporting so many new families and watching our regulars flourish right in front of our eyes. Whether it’s a boost in grades or a newfound sense of self-belief, that growth is why we do what we do.

: How Much Tutoring Should My Child Have? 💚💛

The biggest mistake parents make is thinking more hours or an intense burst of sessions = better results. In reality, it’s all about momentum.

I always recommend 45 minutes of regular, weekly tutoring.

Why?
• Brain Power: It’s the "Goldilocks" zone for focus - long enough to dive deep, short enough to avoid burnout. It’s ‘just right’.
• The Relationship: Regularity builds trust. When a student feels seen and understood, they learn faster.
• The Momentum: Consistent sessions keep the "learning engine" warm so we don't spend half the lesson reviewing what was forgotten.

It’s not just a lesson; it’s a habit; and most of all, regular tutoring prevents problems and helps a child truly thrive.

Revision matters, but it doesn’t have to take over the holidays.

Allocating a few hours on the non-active days is really important. Go through each subject and make a list of things from the mocks that need to be focused on next term. Then, pick one or two areas to look into a bit deeper, and cross them off the main list.

This will give your child a sense of achievement, and feel less like a cloud hanging over them during the holiday.

If your child has been given past papers, a simple tip: save them for just before they head back to school.

That way, when the papers are reviewed in lessons, everything is still fresh and they can really learn from the feedback.
