Intentional. Repeated. Everyday.
That's how ISP teachers build life skills into every lesson to help students grow into curious, confident learners.
This International Youth Day, we shine a light on how we do it and why it matters.
Working with the Cambridge Teacher Research Exchange (Camtree), teachers from 15 of our schools tested this approach in real classrooms. The result: students who build life skills alongside academics grow more confident, engage more with the curriculum, and exceed expectations.

Even the youngest learners can be great problem-solvers. All they need is a safe space and the right nudge from parents and teachers.
This is what Foundation 2 teachers at Lady Elizabeth School set out do - unlock critical thinking in early learners.
Students were given real challenges: fixing a doll's cot, numbering metal containers and shifting water filled tyres. Some showed real independence. Others needed a prompt or a peer to follow. All of them showed growth.
The result: confident, engaged learners who are open to the challenge. This is Learning.First.™ in practice.

When students reflect on their learning, explore the "how" and the "why" with curiosity, they're not only better equipped to lead their own learning but also build on critical life skills such as collaboration and self-leadership.
To bring these life competencies to the classroom, the teachers of Class 2 students at Aubrick Escola Bilíngue Multicultural designed a learning experience centred around reading graphs, interpreting data and validating their learning via peer-discussions.
