Haven't heard this phrase for a while
'coo that was lucky we missed the rain!'
This week cooler conditions were evident on our walk from Great Somerford, our weather guru Roy pointed out the falling rain in Chippenham whilst we kept dry!
As you will see from a photo, Jo mis- judged the height of the bridge that Leader Di took the group under ( no one was harmed in the making of the the photo😂)

Despite heatwave No 5 thanks to our Leaders adapting their walks to include shade and regular water breaks we managed several walks this week. Leader Di took her group down dry river beds and took shade to a new level as they went under some Bridges! Nigel found the greenest space left in Malmesbury.
If you're interested in Nordic Walking we offer 2 free taster sessions and regular Beginner Courses. For more info about our Club follow the link to our web page or Contact our membership secretary Jo at [email protected].

A new route from Leader Jane this week, starting at Biddestone Duck Pond where the local painting group were setting up, we made our way across local lanes and fields towards Slaughterford, following the By Brook towards Ford where we stopped at the White Hart for coffee before making our way back.
We enjoyed big blue Wiltshire skies, shady lanes where we successfully negotiated a fallen tree across our path, lots of chatter and a few inclines - well it wouldn't be a Nordic Walk without one!

At GO Nordic Walking we have a fabulous group of Instructors and Leaders who willingly give up their time to lead our weekly programme of Walks. This week Roy led a lovely walk from Tetbury along open fields, shady paths, following dry river beds in glorious sunshine. I forgot about the coffee at the end at the Tetbury Goods Shed !

It doesn't matter if it's 1, 2 or 8 members that want to walk. If the walk is scheduled off we go! Now the weather has cooled this week we had an 8km walk around Badminton, 5km on a lovely Tuesday evening around Birds Marsh, Chippenham ,6km around Malmesbury on Wednesday and an 8Km wander around Shipton Moynes & Easton Grey on Thursday. Our walking for health group are out Friday and our Saturday Walkers are raring to go (not sure where yet! )
As you can see we walk most days in various locations and duration.
We provide 2 free taster sessions and regular Introduction Courses.

A busy week for our Club. A spot the weird trees competition between walk leaders, a record 13 plus stiles on one walk😩....a new route, mapping out new routes ending the week with our quarterly Leaders Walk & Lunch.

Leader Jane is taking us on some new routes in a different area. Jane promised us great views and we weren't disappointed and we had a quick cuppa at the Dandelion Cafe, a busy community cafe.
Our next Beginners Course is on 27th June. If your interested email our membership secretary : [email protected]

May is National Walking Month. The perfect time to build a habit that lasts.
And every year, we come together for INWA World Nordic Walking Day on 16–17 May.
It is a global moment that brings the Nordic walking community together. Thousands of people, one shared way of moving.
If you have been thinking about starting, this is your time.
If you already walk, this is your chance to be part of something bigger.
Nordic walking works your whole body, supports posture, and helps you move with purpose.
Across the UK, our instructors are ready to help you get started or take your technique further using the INWA 10 Step Method™.
Make May count. Walk with purpose. Be part of it.
