Enough is Enough.

Today Reach joins Look Up Look Out - OfficialLookuplookoutcampaign to say it plainly: no window cleaner should be hurt by an overhead line. In 2021 two window cleaners died after their water-fed poles touched live cables. That's two families. For the next few weeks we'll share what we know, and we want to hear what you know.

Share this with one cleaner you look out for.

Well done Ultra Reach Poles 👏👏👏

Independent safety recognition for two of our ranges.

The Look Up Look Out campaign has reviewed our test evidence and awarded its Evidence-Based Safety Recognition against the 33kV+ Compliance Standard — to the 22ft water fed pole range and to the D50 gutter vac.

Both withstood 80,000 volts AC for one minute at 0.05mA leakage, tested to GB/T 1408.1-2016. Two insulated fibreglass base sections on each.

Our thanks to John Knight and everyone at Look Up Look Out.

John started the campaign after his son Jason survived a 33,000 volt flashover that jumped around two metres to his pole without ever touching the line. That is why a recognition from them is worth having — and why we will say here exactly what we say on our safety page.

An insulated base is a last line of defence. It is not permission to work near overhead lines, and no rating on any pole would have changed what happened to Jason. The number on the box is not what keeps you alive. The distance is.

Look up before you extend.

Carbon fibre conducts electricity.

Electricity can flash over through the air — it does not need to be touched. A long-reach pole puts conductive material exactly where the risk is.

Look up. Look out. Keep a safe distance. Plan ahead.
