A wonderfully busy week in 5EK. We have enjoyed exploring seeds and planted some bean seeds to see if they grow on our window, hopefully they will be big enough to come home before the holidays. In Maths we have been doing some simple and more complex addition sentences using a variety of resources.

3SM have loved our Science topic, learning all about the human body! They particularly enjoyed meeting our class skeleton, who they named ‘Gerald’, and exploring all the different bones in the human body. We have also been learning about our muscles and how they work with our bones and joints to help our bodies move.

In 8LB this week, the class have enjoyed learning about what the rainforest provides us with. We tasted mango and sweet potato and learned how clothes can be made out of tree bark. In Art, we showed great perseverance learning how to weave, creating our own tigers! In PSHE, we discussed friendships and had a great time exploring different scenarios. Well done 8LB, another amazing week!

This week in 4HS we have been working hard on our Science work exploring what plants need to grow. We have observed the seeds we planted and were excited to see that they have started to grow. We have enjoyed exploring some new musical instruments in our Music sessions and choosing our favourite songs to play along to. This week, 3IL have had a fantastic time creating and exploring patterns. We have each painted our own unique patterns and thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with different colours and using paint. We have also continued to explore our rainforest poem. The children particularly enjoyed searching for bugs hidden in Rice Krispies and exploring our frog toy. In PE, we enjoyed taking part in circuits and exploring a variety of activities. The children loved using the colourful rainbow tube and worked enthusiastically throughout the session.

1ES have been working hard this week on their communication! We have been using our core boards to make requests for 'more' of something and the pupils have been introduced to different symbols of motivating toys they enjoy. We have also read a story about Arctic animals, the children were engaged and loved exploring the different sensory props - they particularly enjoyed spraying water on the umbrella. What a wonderful week! 🙂

In 7CS, we have been learning about addition and subtraction and have revised adding and subtracting 10s and 1s from 2 and 3 digit numbers. We have revised the column method for addition and subtraction without carrying. We will extend our learning to include carrying/exchanging next week.
In Science, we have looked at different types of skeletons. We have revised our learning about vertebrates and invertebrates. We have learned about endoskeletons, exoskeletons and hydrostatic skeletons. We have also used the iPads to research which type of skeletons animals have and have sorted them accordingly.

This week in 4HS we have enjoyed exploring our new sensory rainforest poem. We have been practicing our turn-taking skills in PSHE. In Science we have been looking at plants and seeds and enjoyed having a go at planting some seeds to watch them grow. In Music the children have been choosing their favourite animal songs to play along to. In Art we got very messy creating our own version of Van Gogh's starry night painting.
