And quickly to follow that is this rather smart Ibanez Guitars seafoam green shred machine! This belongs to the same owner as the Epiphone Les Paul just posted. It’s a new guitar so it needed a little bit more work. It needed a good fretboard service and conditioning with Lemon oil, and the action, intonation and bridge level setting. If you don’t get on with a recently purchased guitar, it will really benefit to have it set up the way you like it. Get in touch!

A quick post (and one to follow). Recently I had this lovely Epiphone . It came in for a setup and service ahead of a gig in Macclesfield last weekend. No dramas! Fresh strings and a good service and setup is all it needed.

Oh! I forgot one! Here’s another classical guitar. This is one that was handed down from Auntie to Niece. The customer (niece!) wants to learn how to play so she asked me to restring and give it a health check. All good, after a new set of D'Addario and Co. Classical strings, a fret polish and check, and a body polish. It’s back now in the owners hands and I’d like to think making new music!

And in quick succession, here’s a lovely (and I do mean lovely!) Classical Guitar. It came in for a restring. The customer supplied a set of D’Addario classical strings. It has a lovely tone and now back with its owner. Watch this space. The customer also has a Cordoba classical, to follow!

Hi all. Next can off the rank is this little beauty! I had this superb Yamaha . An upgrade on other Pacifica’s I’ve worked on, this fella has a flame maple top, burst finish and gold hardware! Cracker! Like all Yamaha guitars, it punches way above its weight!
It came on for a service and setup, and a set of Newtone Strings. It’s back in the hands of its owner, Dave, ready for gigging again!

Well, this week…actually, let’s take a step back. This Epiphone has been on and off the bench for a few weeks. Thanks to a very patient customer for bearing with me. As you can see, it started with an ‘ouch’ moment. The guitar was sold by my customer, sent via courier and arrived at the other end, well, in more than one piece! It’s a good repair, using the shards I found in the case. I had to blend over the repair with some black, which I’ve also tinted with denim blue stain. I’ll let the pictures do the talking with the final word from my customer who said ‘you can’t tell it’s been repaired’. That’ll do me.

Seagulls! The scourge of many summer holidays! The last time I had any interaction with one of the pesky creatures was in North Wales when one swooped down and pinched my sandwich out of my hand. It wasn’t just a sandwich. It was a Marks and Spencer Brie, bacon and cranberry sandwich! I was NOT impressed! Gladly, this Seagull recently was better behaved. This belongs to Tom who runs an open mic at the Blarney Barrel in Bramhall. This is his long term playing partner but just needed the action lowering so a quick saddle shave, service and strings and voila - a much better playing guitar.

OK, here for all you Fender fans is this rather nice example of a Tele. Three pickups and a 5 way switch on a tele? Yes, it works and you get all the ‘in between’ strat sounds as well as the traditional Tele twang. A great I’d say for any gigging guitarist. This one came in for a service and setup. It’s now back with its owner ready for the next gig, with a shiny fret board and a new set of Newtone Strings

Here’s a very very nice Fender for some tasty mods. The first picture is ‘after’ the second is ‘before’. This guitar is described by its owner as his main guitar, getting regular gigging action. He wanted it to cover a lot of bases in his covers band, and have a bit more power and clarity than the standard pickups were giving him. He’s supplied a set of , and some saddles and a very nice slate grey scratchplate. I’ve also done a full service and setup with new Ernie Ball strings. Lovely. Looks great doesn’t it? Sounds and plays great as well! Lots more to come, busy as ever! Thanks for following along.

Here’s a quick post, just to let you know I’m still here!
A lovely Yamaha acoustic which came in for a set of strings and a service. This guitar’s owner prefers lighter gauge strings, so after I cleaned and oiled the fret board, checked and polished the frets, I fitted a set of D'Addario and Co. 10-50 acoustic strings. It’s also had a nice all over polish with Ernie Ball guitar polish.
