📣YEAR 7 MEET THE TUTOR EVENING

📅 Thursday 24th September
⏰ 4:00pm – 6:00pm

We warmly invite our Year 7 families to come along to our Meet the Tutor Evening.

There is no need to book an appointment – families will be seen on a first come, first served basis.

You’ll have around 5 minutes with your child’s Form Tutor to:

✨ Find out how well your child has settled into Year 7
💬 Ask any questions you may have
✅ Discuss any queries or concerns
🏫 Hear how they are getting on with academy life

Our Year 7 Team will also be available throughout the evening, alongside colleagues from SEND Support and Safeguarding.

A reminder that all students should be ready to learn by coming to school every day with their 5 basic items in a pencil case inside their school bag.

Our 5 basics are:

Having the right equipment helps everyone to be ready, organised and prepared to learn in every lesson.

💜 WOW YEAR 7 – WHAT A FIRST WEEK! 💜

We have absolutely loved welcoming our new Year 7 students to Willenhall this week! What a brilliant start you have made. 🌟

From day one, your line-ups have been fantastic, your uniform has been excellent and you have shown such sensible and mature behaviour as you have learned all of our new routines.

📵 You have adapted brilliantly to Phones Under Control, helping make school a focused place for learning and social times a chance to talk, make new friends and get involved.

🏫 It has been a busy first few days! You have:
✨ Met your tutors and started getting to know your new form groups
✨ Taken part in assemblies and activities to introduce you to life at Willenhall
📸 Had your photographs taken for our school systems
➗ Completed your first Maths assessments
📖 Completed your NGRT reading assessments
📚 Visited the library and chosen your first reading book
💌 Written letters for your Year 7 time capsule – we can’t wait to read them when you are in year 11.

Most importantly, you have started to settle into your new school, learn our routines and show us what a fantastic year group you can be.

Year 7, you should be incredibly proud of your first week. We certainly are! 💜

💜 WHAT A START FOR YEAR 11! 💜

It has been brilliant to welcome our Year 11 students back to school and see them begin such an important year with maturity, focus and ambition.

🎯 Strategy Day – Miss Wilson shared what Year 11 will look like, including mocks, exams and the journey ahead. Students then had 1:1 meetings with members of SLT and the Year Team to talk about their individual goals and priorities.

⭐ High Expectations – Students have taken part in assemblies covering expectations, behaviour systems and the standards we expect throughout Year 11, alongside practising our line-up routines.

📵 Phones Under Control – We have been really pleased with how maturely Year 11 have adapted to their new phone pouches. School is a focused time for learning, while social times are an opportunity to talk, spend time with friends and get involved in activities.

📚 Lessons are underway! – Fresh new books, clear presentation expectations and a real focus on routines and consistency. Strong Starts are helping make sure every lesson begins calmly, purposefully and ready for learning.

This is just the beginning. Year 11 have an incredibly important year ahead, and every lesson, every day and every decision counts.

🎉 TODAY IS THE DAY WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR! 💜

Today we welcome our new Year 7 students as they begin their exciting new adventure and officially join the Willenhall family! 💜

And we welcome back our Year 11 students as they begin their final year with us — an incredibly important year, and one we’re ready to make count! ⭐

💜 YEAR 7
Don’t worry about finding your way! Staff and our student ambassadors will be at the gates and along the drive to welcome you and point you in the right direction.

🥐 Breakfast is available in the dining hall from 8am before you make your way to your new line-up area, where you’ll meet your tutors and get ready for your first day.

⭐ YEAR 11
You know what to do and where to go! Breakfast club and then straight to line ups please with your tutors. Today, we’re also asking you to help us welcome our newest students. If you spot a Year 7 looking a little lost or confused, please stop, help them and show them what being part of the Willenhall family is all about. 💜
