THE FINAL DAY OF OUR SUMMER HOLIDAYS! 💙☀️

We made sure our final day was packed with plenty of Kids Holiday Heroes favourites!

🥣 We started with our free breakfast
🏃 Fun warm-up games to get everyone moving
🔫 Plenty of action with Nerf Gun Wars
⚽ Lots of football
🍓 We made our own fruit skewers, choosing from a range of fruits including strawberries, melon and grapes
🍫 We got baking and made some delicious crispy chocolate cakes
🎨 Lots of Arts & Crafts throughout the day
🔎 A brilliant scavenger hunt with prizes
🏗️ And a Straws & Connectors building competition, where the children put their creativity and teamwork to the test!

Over the holidays, we’ve welcomed so many fantastic children through our doors and enjoyed everything from sports, woodland adventures and Nerf battles to baking, crafts, workshops, visitors and plenty of messy activities! 💙

A HUGE thank you to all of our wonderful staff who have worked incredibly hard throughout the summer.

Thank you to all of the children who have joined us! You’ve brought so much energy, laughter and fun to our camps and made this summer one to remember.

Day 26 - Willand 💙

We had a great mixture of sports, creativity, outdoor adventures and even did our bit to help look after the environment! 🌍🌱

We started the day with our free breakfast, followed by some fun warm-up games to get everyone moving and ready for the day ahead.

🔫 Nerf Gun Wars – always a firm favourite!
🎨 Arts & Crafts – some of the children chose to spend time getting creative
🌳 Den Building & Woodland Games – making the most of the outdoors
⚽ Plenty of football throughout the day
🏐 Dodgeball – lots of energy and friendly competition
♻️ Litter Picking & Environmental Learning – the children helped tidy up our outdoor areas while learning about why it’s important to look after the environment around us 🌍

We were really impressed with how enthusiastically the children got involved with the litter picking. It was a great opportunity to combine being outdoors with learning about taking responsibility for and caring for our environment. 👏🌱

Of course, there was still plenty of time for games, sports and having fun with friends!

Day 25 - Willand 💙

Another brilliant day packed with activities, fun and plenty of opportunities for the children to choose how they wanted to spend their time.

We started the morning with our free breakfast before getting everyone moving with some fun warm-up games. Then it was straight into another action-packed day!

🏹 Archery & Axe Throwing – testing our aim and learning new skills
🧪 Slime Making – messy, gooey and always a favourite!
⚽ Plenty of football and active play
🔫 Nerf Gun Wars – lots of action and friendly competition
🍪 Baking biscuits – with some delicious results!
🌳 Having fun and challenging ourselves on the trim trail
🎱Chill time in the hall – giving everyone a chance to relax, play and spend time with their friends

For the afternoon, we handed some of the decision-making over to the children and let them choose what they wanted to do. 🌟

It was great seeing everyone choosing the activities they enjoyed most – whether that was another Nerf battle, a game of football, tackling the trim trail, baking or simply enjoying some downtime with friends.

Day 24 - Willand 💙

Today at Kids Holiday Heroes, we decided to do things a little differently… the children were in charge! 💙🙌

We gave the children plenty of choice throughout the day, allowing them to decide which activities they wanted to take part in – and they certainly made the most of it!

🔫 Some chose action-packed Nerf Gun Wars
🎨 Others got creative with Arts & Crafts
🎱Some enjoyed time relaxing and playing games in the hall
🍫 We got baking and made some delicious crispy cakes
🌳 We headed outside for woodland games
✈️ We learnt how to make different styles of paper aeroplanes, before putting our creations to the test in a model plane competition!
⚽ And, as always, there was plenty of sport, with football being the firm favourite today!

It was great to give the children the freedom to choose how they spent parts of their day. Some wanted to be active, some wanted to get creative, while others simply enjoyed spending time with their friends!

Day 23 - Willand & Payhembury 💙

Today our children across Willand and Payhembury enjoyed another brilliant mixture of creativity, sports and outdoor adventures.

🧪 Getting messy with slime making
🌳 Den building and plenty of woodland games
⚽ Lots of football
🏏 A fun game of rounders
🏹 Testing their skills with archery and axe throwing
🎨 A range of Arts & Crafts
🎐 Making some fantastic wind chimes – they looked brilliant!
🖍️ Getting creative with window art, using paint pens to create some colourful designs on the windows!

🐶 We also had a very special visitor today! To celebrate World Dog Day, the lovely Bobby came along to meet the children and spend some time with them. The children loved spending time with him and giving him lots of attention! 🐾💙

There was a great mix of activities today, from getting creative with slime, wind chimes and window art to spending lots of time outdoors, building dens and getting active with our sports.

⚠️🐍 CAUTION… SNAKES ARE BACK AT KIDS HOLIDAY HEROES! 🐍⚠️

Day 22 - Willand & Payhembury

What a day! Day 22 brought some very special visitors, plenty of outdoor adventures and lots of hands-on fun across Payhembury and Willand! 💙

🐍 The children got up close with some amazing animals, including a snake, ferret and tarantula – learning all about them and even getting the chance to meet and handle some of them!
🧪 We got messy with slime making
🔎 Headed outdoors for a treasure hunt
🌳 Enjoyed lots of woodland games
🎨 Got creative with Arts & Crafts
🏹 Took aim with archery and axe throwing
🎭 Made some fantastic face masks
⚽ Enjoyed a huge range of sports and active games

🚁 We also had a fantastic visit from Devon Air Ambulance at Willand. The children learned all about the important work the Air Ambulance does, got to see and try on some of their clothing and equipment, and had the opportunity to ask lots of questions.

A huge thank you to our visitors for giving the children such memorable experiences. From snakes and tarantulas to archery, slime and learning about the Air Ambulance, there really was something for everyone today! 🌟

☀️ Summer Camp – Day 21! ☀️

Another fantastic day at Kids Holiday Heroes! 💙 Today our children across Willand and Payhembury enjoyed a brilliant mixture of sports, creativity, challenges and outdoor adventures.

🌳 Woodland games and exploring our outdoor areas
⚽ Football and a range of sports
🎾 Tennis
🎨 Arts & Crafts, including making some fantastic wind chimes
🎈 Fun parachute games
🔎 A scavenger hunt
🧠 Testing our knowledge with a fun quiz
🧖 Making and enjoying face masks

It was great to see the children getting stuck into such a variety of activities – from running around outdoors and working together during our games, to slowing things down and getting creative with their wind chimes.

Day 21 - Willand 💙

Today was packed with a brilliant mixture of outdoor adventures, creativity, sports and plenty of opportunities for the children to choose the activities they love.

🍓 We made some delicious and colourful fruit kebabs
🌳 We headed outdoors for den building
🎨 We got creative with Arts & Crafts, with loom bands once again proving a HUGE favourite!
⚽ We played football alongside a range of other sports and games
🔫 Things got competitive with some brilliant Nerf Gun Wars
🎱And we enjoyed some time in our games room, playing pool, air hockey, board games, puzzles and card games

A huge well done to all of our children for another brilliant day and another fantastic week of Summer Camp! 💙

Day 20 - Willand & Feniton 💙

Today we were at Willand and Feniton, with another huge variety of activities keeping everyone busy throughout the day.

Across our two camps, the children enjoyed:
🧪 Slime making – always a firm favourite!
⚽ Football and a range of sports
🌳 Den building
👾 Creating some brilliant crazy creatures using Play-Doh in our environmental areas
🎨 Arts & Crafts, with loom bands proving especially popular today!
🔫 Nerf Gun Wars
🧱 Lego building and plenty of creative construction

There was a fantastic mixture of active games, creativity and outdoor adventures today. We loved seeing some of the amazing crazy creatures the children came up with, as well as the creativity on show during our Lego building, slime making and dens!

As always, the children threw themselves into the activities and showed some brilliant teamwork! 💙

⚠️🐍 CAUTION… SNAKES AND TARANTULAS! 🐍⚠️

Day 19 - Willand & Payhembury 💙

Well… today was certainly one to remember! We had another incredible day across Willand and Payhembury, including some VERY special visitors!

At Willand, the highlight of the day was an amazing animal workshop! 🐍🕷️🦦

The children had the opportunity to get up close with a snake, a tarantula and two ferrets! They were able to hold, touch and stroke the animals while learning lots of fascinating facts about them and how they are cared for. We were so impressed with how brave and gentle the children were – even with the tarantula! 😬🕷️

Alongside our animal encounters, the children enjoyed:
🏹 Archery & Axe Throwing
🧁 Baking
🎨 A range of Arts & Crafts
⚽ A range of sports and games

Meanwhile, at Payhembury, there was plenty happening too:
🔎 A fun scavenger hunt
☕ Hot chocolate with marshmallows
🐾 A special visit from the RSPCA, learning about animals and animal welfare
🏹 Archery & Axe Throwing
⚽ A range of sports and games
🎨 Arts & Crafts

What a day! From holding snakes and meeting ferrets to scavenger hunts, hot chocolate, sports and creativity, there was certainly something for everyone.
