Delighted to announce that we have been awarded the School Games Platinum Mark - the highest award 🙌 This is in recognition of the high profile sport plays here at Wiggonby, providing all pupils with high-quality PE and sport through staff and coach Rob Jefferson Chance Camp. We have also tried some new sports this year, and achieved fantastically well in some our the competitions we have entered. Well done Team Wiggonby 🤗⚽️🏈🏑🏏⛳️🏹🏊‍♀️

We are so lucky to have Sarah Pick 'n' Mix Strings providing outstanding music tuition at Wiggonby, supported by the lovely Ann Bishop. We were treated to a superb violin performance yesterday, as well as a singalong to the cup song by our percussion ensemble. Simply wonderful 🤗

This year is the National Year of Reading. Since January, every Monday and Friday, staff have been taking it in turns to read books to our pupils. This morning, Mrs Twentyman and Miss English took their turn. A really lovely experience to have members of staff reading stories to the pupils, especially those they don't often see in class 🤗

Congratulations to our Wiggonby footballers today at the GoActiv Training & Performance tournament at Harraby. Placed in a difficult group, Team Wiggonby won two, drew one, lost one, with our wins coming against two big schools in Cumbria! Those results meant we finished second in the group, qualifying for the Champions League route. The quarter finals saw us up against another big Carlisle school. We fought hard, putting in some great tackles, and making some outstanding saves. Unfortunately, a solitary goal against us meant we lost out on a place in the semi.
An absolutely fantastic effort from the team, and they should feel immensely proud of themselves. We may be small, but we are mighty ⚽️💪

A fabulous time has been had at our first ever Hobby Horse event 🐴 Our team competed in various challenges, scoring points both individually and for the team. A few rosettes collected along the way 🙌 Well done Team Wiggonby 👏 👏👏
