Last week, we delivered our collection of food from the Harvest Festival. The Foodbank in Wigton were once again very thankful for our generosity and told us just what a huge difference we have made to local residents and families 🤗

Last year, whilst cleaning out our shed, I found a very dusty and worn wooden plaque. The plaque had been made to mark the reopening of the school following its extension in 1963.
One of our grandparents, John Mallinson, saw a photo of the plaque and got in touch to say he would love to pay for its restoration. John, a former pupil of the school, remembers the original unveiling of the plaque (both the official one and the unofficial one involving himself and a friend 😀).
John was invited to our Harvest Festival to officially unveil the newly restored plaque. And lovely to have his grandchildren to support him ❤️

*Huge thank you to another parent, Kevin Stone, for his hard work on restoring the plaque, with his daughter (one of our pupils) adding the gold lettering 🤗

What a lovely Harvest Festival we had this afternoon 🤗
A fantastic turnout to hear our wonderful pupils speak so clearly, sing with passion, and show off their excellent artwork 🙌
Thank you to Reverend Geoffrey Ravalde for supporting our service and a huge thank you to our parents, grandparents and staff for their generosity during our sale. Together, we have raised a whopping £300!!! This will be split between the Bishop of Carlisle's Harvest Appeal and Wigton Foodbank, who will also receive the donations of food brought to school 👌

Today is National Poetry Day.
Thinking about the theme of 'Wonder' and with the help of the pupils, we have created our own version of Jenny Joseph's poem, 'The Magic of the Brain'.

'The Magic of Wiggonby' by the pupils of Wiggonby C of E Primary School 🤗

Last week, our KS2 pupils had the opportunity to represent Allerdale at the Cumbria School Games. Our pupils participated in athletics and golf,, demonstrating great skill. Rain didn't spoil their enthusiasm throughout the day either, which was great to see. Well done Team Wiggonby and thank you to Active Cumbria 💪
