Guitar and Bass setups, restringing etc. available.
I have set up and restrung every guitar I have bought with no incidents whatsoever, I have also set up and restrung friends instruments with no complaints. I have also dabbled in building my own instrument which although I did not complete due to time and cost did give me insight into the setup and building process.
A price can be negotiated for a setup of your instrument.
If it is something I feel is beyond my ability I will not attempt to do any work and will instead recommend an experienced luthier/guitar tech at no cost.
If you would like to learn how to restring and set up your guitar/bass for a fair and reasonable price can be negotiated.
Factors that will affect the cost include string sourcing (I recommend you supply your own strings but alternatively can be sourced), the work that is needed and the time it will take. A 12 string guitar has twice the number of strings of a typical guitar and will take twice as long.
*service will be discounted for students with exception of the cost of strings as I have no control over their market value*
*if I attempt to do any work that is beyond my abilities and damage is done to the instrument that is a result of an action I have taken (minus mild cosmetic) a full refund plus the cost of repairs/replacement of the instrument as suited.
Cosmetic damage will be fairly re-embursed based on the severity*
*Before and after photos will be taken of instruments highlighting any prior damage before work begins and to ensure the instrument is returned in a as good as or better condition.*
*If the setup is unsatisfactory (too high/too low) after adjustment then it will be rectified at no extra cost within a period of 14 days*
*after 14 days if unsatisfied then a reasonable cost of adjustment will be given*
*a deposit for work done (plus the cost of strings/parts) must be paid prior to work done to avoid any financial loss in unforeseen circumstances, we have the right to hold the instrument in the event of withheld payments for work done*
*If any additional work is required during the process you will be informed so a price can be negotiated beforehand or the instrument returned to its original state (or as close as possible) to take to an alternative tech/luthier. A suitable refund will be provided depending on work done/not done*
*costs of strings and parts are based on market value and availability, as a result any parts or strings sourced by us are none refundable, we don’t intend on making profit from these items at this time and a copy of receipts will be provided to the customer as proof of price*
*even high quality strings have the occasional bad batch, if a string should break during the replacement no extra cost will be required unless the string set is specialist I.e. hard to source or excessively expensive.*
*Again we recommend sourcing your own strings*

Hi i'm George, the founder of After Silence.
The idea to create a music school came from my experiences as a growing musician while juggling a career in childcare and education. While studying for my degree and working full time I was practicing guitar and finding resources on the internet to grow my knowledge of music and the industry with varied success. All the while looking to find inexpensive courses that could help me to grow, but, there wasn't any. All the courses that where available where through the local colleges and, as previously mentioned, I already had commitments.
After Silence is totally different in that regard, you can learn about the music industry from experienced industry professionals, you can learn music theory, you can learn an instrument or several if you so choose, entirely at your own pace. No committed times, no assignments, total freedom.
A little about me, I have been playing music for a relatively short period of time, however, In that time I have progressed quick enough to 1 feel confident enough to teach it and 2 work alongside industry professionals, and keep up in bands and projects. I started learning music on the guitar, blues and rock mainly, which quickly moved onto folk, classical, jazz, metal flamenco etc. as my music taste grew and developed, I started playing bass while studying a course at TMP college when I picked it up properly for the first time to play in the band Crimson Image. I also developed the skills to record and produce my own music during that time, and although nothing is released as of yet, multiple projects and ideas are in progress.
